Good summary. +1

Umm, my F30 335i has ambient lighting (..adjustable between 'Classic' mode and 'Modern' mode I believe; aka...red and white), sooooo.....why assume that the F80 won't? Ambient lighting has been in every BMW coupe and sedan as far back as I can remember (..E46-on). Also, the center stacks are the exact same. There are no differences in the dash between the F30/32/80/82.

Love them both. The e90 still looks like and retains the character of an M3. The f80 looks more like an M5. Hmmm

The only things that make the M4/3 better;
1. Seats
2. Mirrors
3. CCB option

That aside, the E9X M3 will always be the signature ///M car.

...Hmmm! I thought that was the E30!!?? Nooo, it was the E36 M3. Oh wait, it was really the E46. Oh no, no, no....now it's the E9X. In 6 year's time it'll be the F8X.

Typically, when I see these comparisons, the newer models make me appreciate the older models more. This is true for the F30 3 series and 4 series -- they have somehow made me appreciate the E90 and E92 more than I previously had.

But these photos make me realize how very dated the E90 M3 looks in comparison to this newer M3. To my eye, it is not even close, in any area, exterior or interior.

However, I've yet to see something that makes my eye perceive the E46 as "dated." Same with the E82.

Speaking of E82, I'm an owner of an ugly car, so disregard the above opinions! hehehe

Love everything about the F80 M3 except for that stupid hood line that goes above the logo...why in the world was this done. Look at the E90 M3 hood, it's super clean with no horizontal cut visible.

I'd love to hear your reasoning on this one...

True, F80 is wider but the E90 Looks classy. The F80 though it looks great......Im just not feeling it That much right now. Maybe When i see it in the flesh.....

Im still aiming for an 11 E90 M3 DCT as a DD in the future.

I actually like the newer hood without the integrated grills. The F-series front end design is just so killer; the headlights especially.

The F8X M3 and M4 are just to busy for me. Not a fan of the new look.

The E9X M3 would be my pick. Looks cleaner and you cannot go past that V8!

F80 looks more modern and aggressive STOCK, a few personal touches to the E90 and it can compete but doesn't look better. I think they did a good job. Still on the fence about the sedan looking better than the coupe though.

The shots are not even the same, studio shots which are exaggerating the lines on the F80 and real life shots for the E90.
I kind of agree. Here are some more comparable-quality shots of the e90 (the pic of the front is the same). They show the e90 in a more flattering light:

Flattering light for the E9X doesn't change the F80's design impact when juxtaposed against one another.
