Bermmen 10.25 inch NBT EVO head unit problems.

Hello,

Im having issues installing the new head unit listed in the title. It worked partially for about :30 sec with the screen and all icons populating but with no sound from the speakers and then said "no signal" after pressing the menu button.

ECS sent me a new screen and wiring harness. I tried all combinations.

New screen / old wiring
Old screen/ new wairing
New screen/ new wiring

The interesting thing that happened was my phone populated the "andriod auto " request from the "old screen/ new wiring" combination and non of the other ones. Im not sure if im installing this correctly or im missing a wire somewhere.

please see the attached pictures for how im installing it and troubleshooting thats been done.

Any advice is appreciated.

Faulty unit most likely return and get a replacement.

WhiteFox I went through 2 units. I also tried all combinations between the two units ( new wiring/ old screen// old wires/ new screen// new/ new) all with the same result.

My sales rep at turner said this would not work for my 2017 f80 comp

Interesting. I spent 2 weeks back and forth with their reps trying to get this to work. Not one person said anything about this not working for my 2018 comp. The plot thickens. NORAGRETS

I asked about it bc i think it was marked down pretty heavily when i saw it (like 50% off MSRP at least). Thought it was a no brainer at the time but he said it unfortunately wouldn’t function w my car.


I also have a NBT EVO system

Yea, same here. It evern says in the "compatibility " section that it works with F80.

Yeah but pre LCI units had different head units, they weren’t NBT EVO

The other issue here is im not the most knowledgeable person on the matter. Im a weekend worrior that chases easy jobs that dont require a tone of effort. So, this conversation is expending my knowladge for sure.

I just want me some andriod auto.

Thoughts on this ?

Hope it works out for you, I’m still waiting on my xtrons unit to arrive.

The best option may be the G30 units from Samsung/BMW. Someone else got one and hasn’t had issues.

Only thing I didn’t like is how far forward the screen sits as opposed to the oem one. But i think I’d get used to it.

lol everyone wants mods that are effortless, but alas, one can dream 😂. Idk if I’ve ever had a mod go exactly as planned without some form of minor tweaking.

My suggestion is to go w the G30 unit if you want ease of install and use. Since they’re already BMW OEM units ur gonna get less gray hairs.
