f15 display on F82 M4

Hi ! i made this hard retrofit about 4 weeks ago . I have leather dash , the back of the display needed to be cut to enter that tight space , your leather is at risk if you plan to do this . Anyway i also have ceramic id4 controller , next is g30 unit with id6 . IMO this screen complete the interior

Looks great. How much bigger is the screen? Also, where did you get the ceramic controller? I love the one in my F15 and would like to add one to my F83.

if you have newer idrive buy the g11 ceramic if you like .

i really want to upgrade my id4 to id5-6 anyone know if this is doable yet? i saw the 10.25 android device but saw alot of negative reviews.

you need to change the whole head unit , g30 unit - id6 with all the extra stuff like screen mirroring , apple car play , working connected drive based on your vin . So any good coder can do this . So yes is possible.

Someone was selling some in the f30 Classifieds as well. Not sure if they have any left.

I'd be interested in a ceramic controller, too.

Also, forgive my ignorance, but what exactly did the OP do? Did he replace the screen and if so, why. Or was there no screen on his vehicle to begin with?

Then it takes hours (actually days) of modifications to the controllers as they are not the same size as the plastic knobs.

It took about 6 Climate Control units before the proper solution was found (by Igor_M5 ) who I cannot thank enough.

All in for the size of the knobs, these are the most expensive parts on my car.

Let that sink in.

BMW 5 GT F07 LCI Ceramic Keramik AIR Clima front panel controller https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-5-GT-F0...0/232213777667

But notice the right is AUTO and not MAX AC like on the F3x/F8x platform.

Ceramic knobs are also larger than plastic knobs and worse, a different shape.

So it takes a lot of customization along with trial and error.

If your car is LCI with ID6 there is a pnp solution but you need trimming and some easy coding.
My car is 18 M3 and I retrofitted a F15 touchscreen.

I recently added the ceramic idrive control and now I'm curious about the control knobs retrofit too.

Could you share what the process was to make the HVAC ceramic controls work...I really wouldn't want to go through multiple units to get this done, if avoidable at all.

Appreciate any guidance on this

but now I need to understand how the larger buttons are modified to fit the F82 M4...

I believe these are the correct part # but you should do some research to confirm.
65829350725 for similar controller as stock. 2017+ needs coding to remap buttons.
65829459630 is G11 idrive controller for 2017+ .

Will the latter ("G11 ….") fit (dimensions and connector) fit and work in the F8x?

Its' buttons seem to be properly configured (in the same positions as my OEM) but, almost the entire unit is
