Ever go down a hill on a single-speed bicycle and try to stop the pedals with your feet? When the pedals kick the shit out of your feet and legs, that is what's happening to your engine in a money-shift situation. When you money-shift the car, the engine is being driven by the drivetrain instead of the other way around, and unless you react quickly enough to immediately put the clutch in, there is nothing you can do to stop the overrev.
Yeah that makes sense but OP said this happened to them while they were in neutral and just hit the gas.

Not possible unless his tune raised the rev limiter to 8200+. The computer will not allow the engine to overrev itself.

either way no engine damage just made the CBC bolt loosen off. I didn't I'd the problem right away and mine had same fate
