This.

If the new M3/M4 doesn't hit the mark in every category for me, I'm getting a used E92 and supercharging it. Always loved the E92 just wasn't financially ready to purchase it before production stopped.

I dunno about GM interiors though

What are the buttons on the center console? The one with the speedometer looking gauge, and the one with the steering wheel?

I take it the steering feel becomes firmer when activated.

The gauge cluster.. WTF?
The interior is devoid of any luxurious embellishment and the tacky obvious plastic bright-work is cringe inducing.
Let's make the entire interior out of soft touch colorless grey plastic and add a few bright plastic strips.
Go sit in a 435i at the dealership. It looks crammed and cheap. Somehow the proportion of the sedan makes the interior less crammed.

Alcantara headliner and leather dash could help.

I'm a big fan of fixed headrest style seats but the shape of these seats look horrible in the picture. The headrest looks so narrow and tall. Everyone should just get their seats from Recaro

That honestly looks terrible. Anyone who doesn't agree must have some kind of bias. Just go compare it to similarly priced cars and competitors.

I'll wait until a production model comes out but if that is what it's going to look like then ugh

The whole center console looks on par with the quality of a Nissan Altima rental car

I don't like the new steering wheel either...While the grip maybe as thick as it needs to be, the inside of the wheel looks emasculated and tiny..It's almost out of proportionately small.

One has more use of aluminum surrounds, the other has buttons that look old and dated... What exactly looks cheap? I am just wondering... The I-Drive wheel is much more firm feeling, and larger, it is in a better position to use while driving, includes a touch sensor...Just trying to figure out what "cheap" is to folks. The camry my wife chooses to drive, that feels cheap...

That's not aluminum. It's very flimsy plastic. You can tap on it and hear it. Assuming it's the same as the F30. Sure, it's supposed to look like aluminum but I didn't think so when I drove one.

So you drove an F30 with DCT? Then i guess you really know what you're talking about.

In that close-up of the F80 DCT shifter it looks like the seats are two tone black and red with white contrast stitching. Unfortunately it has the same hard plastic looking center console as in all pix and videos I've seen of this car. M6 like CF trim here would make wonders.

90% of the posts here seem to be bitchy, whiney justification of the decision to or not to buy a new M3/4 it's ridiculous.
The car isn't a production car, it's pre production, calm the fuck down.

I have never thought BMW was known for the quality of their interiors. I felt IMHO that they had more plastic, and were less luxury oriented. They always felt to me to be more focused on performance, and they were definitely NOT poor quality, but just not Audi or latest generation Porsche interior quality. I think with this still being a pre-production car that when it is finally unveiled it will be no worse, and hopefully better than my E92 M3 was. I would be fine with this and I personally think it will be a little better and definitely more up to date with some of it's new technology content.

I really don't like the gauges (minor complaint, I know) but the fact that they don't even have the M badge in them makes me think they aren't the final production gauges.
These are the production gauges. All that black space around them is an LED display. Instead of going full LED, the 'analog' gauges were kept to give the car a 'sporty' feel.
Analog needles are way better, I just really like the look of the E9x M3 gauges with the white rings around the edges. But whatever, not a big deal at all. So far I'm in love with pretty much everything about the F80 M3.
