The cable that I replaced was showing (big) signs of corrosion which is strange as the connection is really tight and I can't see how water ingress has taken place.

Anyone I've ending up ordering a new damper unit from Bilstein ( can't be arsed with return to base warranty and having the car on axle stands whilst awaiting a repair ).

Apparently they are built to custom order so will take 3-4 weeks. Think the cable attached to the damper has suffered water damage and blown it.

Ah jeez Steve, sorry to hear. I wonder if you can return the blown one to Bilstein for some type of credit. Where did you order the new damper from?

Bilstein-shocks.co.uk

This site is actually run by Bilstein UK quite helpful actually.

Can't be arsed with credit just want my car sorting now - not buying Bilstein again!

BAH!

Chassis malfunction came back. Same error codes esp 482A2E. Ugh...about to throw these damn bilstein shocks in the garbage and go with a static set.

SteveChester, did you ever fix your issue?

I'd rather fix them over paying for a new set from someone else - but not buying Bilstein again - crap CS.

I am scheduled to take back in today... I hope they don't blame the H&R suspension.
I was good for about 14 months after replacing both sides cable/sensor at the dealer under warranty, but the dreaded message has returned. H&R Super Sport Springs… will attempt to replace myself this time. The worst part is how bumpy the ride gets!!

Hi guys, recently I was introduced to similiar issue "Chassis function restricted"

It was a day after I got EDC ZCP coding (as well as GTS steering wheel, MDM etc.) done and I got an error code 482A3C EDC: Valve Coil - rear right - current regulator plausibility fault.

So far I have done:
- Switched both rear shocks but it was no help and it was an indication of a problem in wiring.
- Changed both wires of struts - the top one and the bottom one for accelerometer sensor.
- checked the VDC module, inside looks clean, no corosion, switched pins going from strut to module (switched left with right and right with left) and the error moved to LEFT side instead of right side, meaning the module is working properly.

Any ideas? I have also attempted changing wiring which goes from VDC module to top of the strut (no luck again).

Should I attempt putting the EDC coding back to stock? The guy who did the coding is promising that coding have nothing to do with the error code I have.

Talking

I also started seeing the "Chassis Function Restricted" messages.

Kudos to 6spdTanzM4 and others for the photos, and guidance in this thread. I could see from the experiences on this forum, that the culprit could be either a faulty EDC wheel sensor or a faulty associated cable.

As the cable is cheaper than the EDC Wheel sensor, I purchased two of the cables for the rear wheels to start with (note, rear cables are different to the front wheel cables).

31307850609 - front
31307850599 - rear

Some good diagrams here:
https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genu...031&gid=472&q=

Note the rear wheel cables can be swapped without removing the inner wheel mud guard, and only a small plastic flap needs to be opened to get access to one of the cable, once the wheel is off.

Well, after swapping both of the rear cables (for good measure), the fault has not re-appeared!

Thanks for the great guidance folks!
