Hard to see that as 50kg worth?
Leather dash too. People often underestimate how heavy leather is! Also adaptive headlights require much more hardware as do HK. But hey it’s not my numbers so maybe email BMW and ask them.

Soooo I've taken out the tool kit, the first aid, the net, and I only ever have half a tank of fuel. I've beaten the 50kg, and have leather, HK, LEDs and the full-M-geek light up seats. Happy. If Pures get more people into M, then great (same with M2s). If you're here to sum it up for you - spend just a bit more than you think you can, get a CP. Really rewarding car - but you have to want one.

Fairenough...but not everyone want or care about leather or adaptive lights or HK, or in fact already have all those things 50 times over in other cars. Sometimes less is more. I like the M4CS for example. Do I care that it has no HK, rear camera, dual zone climate control etc? No not at all.

Another deletion i noticed, although minor, is no power rear sunshades in the Pure.

I’m pretty sure that’s a cost option in CP cars too.

I love the car. Initially, I was really concerned that the lack of all leather seats (in particular) and trims was going to bother me. I actually really like the "cloth" seats, as has everyone that has been for a ride. I actually prefer the style of the 19" wheels over the 20" ones on the Comp pack so that was a non-issue. The engine is the same upgraded one as the Comp Pack. I don't miss adaptive headlights.

I drove the Comp Pack a few weeks before I purchased the Pure and when comparing, the only thing I *really* disliked was the standard stereo system. Which is easily (and planned to be) remedied by the guys at DriveSound (check out some of the $$ rides getting stereo upgrades on their page!).

Resale value of the Pure did worry me a bit, but I figure I got a good deal so let it go. But seriously, if you are really worried about resale value then European performance cars probably aren't for you. There aren't many easier ways to piss money against the wall
Picked up my M3 Pure on Friday. 435GC lease up - was looking at paying it out and keeping the car for the time being, but in the end the deals available on the Pure have allowed me to now have an M3 in the garage. Don’t think I’m going to regret that decision in a hurry!

Like the comments above, I was also a bit concerned about was the missing features - in particular the lack of HK stereo as I like my music - but if after a few months the stereo is an issue, thats easily fixed. Sure, the other features from the CP would be nice, but I was never going to get the price on a new competition that I wanted to pay. So I’m happy to go without them to have my first M3, esp given that mechanically it’s idential to the CP.

And also have to agree re resale value - I accept that my car is an indulgence to enjoy - certainly not an investment!

Took advantage of great pricing on these Alfa's and added one to the stable

Right off the bat can tell you dampening is miles better than the f80 cp

I've ordered a set of tractive coilovers for the f80 so will be interesting to see how it compares once installed

Congrats they are amazing and a whole lot cheaper atm.How would you compare in gear acceleration 2-3-4 etc ? I remember the alfa being very quick but not sure if that was due to better traction in 1st.

Drove it home in stop start traffic on fri arvo, will get it out next weekend for a better drive

Interior is hit and miss, the actual material quality above waist is as good as the f80, leather quality is great, carbon buckets great, plastic trim is fine.

Where it fails is in all the controls like the faux idrive controller and dna knob which feels really loose and cheap. If Alfa can sort the tactility of these controls i don't think anyone will complain about interior - reminds me of the ghibli which had same issues on launch but now since been sorted with the facelift

Exhaust noise is very good, not quite memories of the sonorous v6 sound of the old 156 gta, but it's got a unique raspy sound to it. Does the crack thing on upshifts which adds some character.

I read all about the grabby fly by wire brakes, yes it's a learning curve but you get to used to it

Wow

I’m speechless. I didn’t think my input into this thread would lead to a GQV sale. Many congrats Dom.

I was driven in my friends Giulia on weekend and I fully fully concur re. damping. The Giulia has the damping perfect in Race, D, N & A.

It’s a little quiet on idle but man it sounds superb in Race mode under some load.

Sorry but you are right on the navigation & access to entertainment features. My god. It seems like the system is 3 generations old. I recall our 2007 X5 E70 was on par with the Alfa unit. Doesn’t help that Nav is based on Tom Tom.

Who did you end up buying the Giulia from? And what colour & Spec? Teledials or Forged wheels?

Thanks mate, in hindsight shouldn't have sold it. I saw a low km example for sale recently for 40k iirc

Q.V. is this special edition Alfa aus did around Melb GP time, Metallic red with flat gold teledials and mirrors, has the buckets, ceramics and the white/green stitching

Don't normally buy into these marketing tricks, but appealed to me as it matches our 70th ann 488 in the lauda f1 colour scheme with same gold wheels

Will take some pics tomorrow

I recently picked up a pure for $117 DA in my preferred colour Mineral grey. Very happy with it so far. The discount made it happen. Was looking at early-mid $130's for CP.
I personally didn't see the need for the deleted items and its also not my daily driver. Its great price so so much car.
