2019 M4 Coup M Drive Package Question

Hi there,
I just purchased the 2019 M4 Coupe and I'm wondering if paying the extra $2,500 is worth it for the extra MPH 155 to 174 MPH or this is something that can be done after market? Thanks

Hey,

First of all, Congratulations on your new Baby!

No, If this is all you get for +$2,500.00, It is not worth it!

Yes! You can get the speed limit liberated through a tune. I believe, "BM3" has this capability at 1/4 of that price
and it's highly recommended! Look into it, here on the forum.

Cheers!

The M Drivers Package also includes a one-day M Drivers school at a BMW Performance Center. That alone is $1550 so you would technically only pay $950 for the increased limiter and peace of mind.

Meh, get a Hex Tune from VF Engineering you can get everything from just features ($695) all the way up to a Stage 2+ (if you want more power), with any of them you get the GTS Top Speed Limiter (Set to 192mph)

They offer the base "tune" which just includes the GTS features, no power added, etc…110% safe. This is probably what you want and its super cheap, don't worry about your warranty just find yourself a good SA at your local dealership and all is good.

• GTS Top Speed Limiter (Set to 192mph)
• GTS Sport Display Power Level
• GTS Start-up Sequence “Roar”
• GTS* Throttle Overrun “Exhaust Burble”
• GTS* Oil Fill Level – For Track Use

Then you can always upgrade from there, back in 2015 I threw an ESS piggyback on mine with about 500 miles never had any trouble and recently upgraded to a full tune from VF, also if you purchase the Stage 2+ you get everything below that which you can flash your car to within a few minutes via a laptop and the supplied cable.

OP, you are in Europe and if you have opportunities to go that fast often, just pay $2500.

Honestly as of now any flashing will void your warranty and why bother if you are satisfied with the ZCP power levels.

You only have to be worried about that if let's say you blow the motor up, or something catastrophic happened which absolutely no good reputable tuner out there is pushing anywhere near the limits of our stock motors, turbos or drivetrain.

I just dropped my car off today for scheduled maintenance told my SA, just a reminder its got a full tune don't touch that, etc, etc…

Every time "Not a problem, here's your X5 loaner. Call ya when she's done."

I'm running the stage 2 hex tune, charge pipes, downpipes, full catless exhaust, all the OEM M Performance stuff you can get, suspension fully done, the list goes on and they don't have any issues.

Make sure you find a good local dealer and develop a rapport with your SA (service advisor) and you'll never have any issues. Happy modding!

Your SA can't do anything for you if you have a engine warranty case and BMW NA detect the tune, silly to believe something else.

That’s exactly what I said it’s not an issue unless you blow a motor or something catastrophic happens, but with a simple tune from a reputable company you’re 99.99999% fine from anything like that happening.

But if it does, yeah it’s gonna be on your dollar.
