There are limits in the dme that needs to be found and removed. My car was dynoed several times over there with jb4 only prior to tune.

Once the tune is fully sorted i will share the results.

It took us 4 years to hack the Fxx series, making it possible for the end-user to make the flash is not our current priority. It's just to complex!
To give you an idea, we have 150 F-series we tune each month (each center!) We have 8 centers all over the world, that makes +-1000 F-series / month!
People don't care about the warranty here in Europe and most cars are already out of warranty.
For local customers we offer free original flash if they want under warranty! Works perfect!
So you guys are offering nothing more convenient than a currently available piggyback, correct?

I guess some people have to have a flash at all costs.

Some people you really have to explain everything to, word for word.

My point is that you really need to stop shitting in every tuning thread, when you don't even own a F8x.

The flash could make 650whp and cost $500 and you wouldn't buy one, so why do you try to run off every vendor?

if you would know the difference between a flash & a piggyback, you wouldn't say this but no problem, each his own opinion!

So how is the ecu set up? Is it scalars, tables, and functions?

Completely disregarding the M3, M5 and solely related to the tuning of F series cars, how is the ECU accessed and what tables are modified? That's a very simple question that a tuner should be able to answer... There is nothing exactly to wait on here if you have the answer.

A real tuning company with a real tuning device is able to explain everything -

@MasterC17, don't forget these are stage 1 mappings, so 100% safe without issues and disabling safeties!

I am not a SW Engineer but I asked one of them to make me some printscreens from the M5.

1) Cobb tuning can't tune the F-series, so lol...
2) You didn't give me time to answer, as we have a lot of work, I don't live on the forums
3) All that information you can see on the website of Cobb tuning is just a small part of the things you can change. We use WinOLS, this is a program that allows to read the FULL ECU, not only the calibration parts. (like you can see also on the printscreen above on the left hand side.)
4) how we read the ecu, and flash it, is with this tool (CMD Flashtec) where we use a plugin that we asked CMD to make for us.

1) So is this a full ecu rewrite?
2) Is this why it has to be done at your facility?
3) What options do you offer for customers that are not local to you?
4) My biggest issue is convenience... without offering a hand held flasher, you lose a massive amount of your customer base. Would you offer these tunes remotely?

1) yes
2) yes, because secretz
3) ecu's can be send to us in a later phase for unlock or tuning
4) not sure, we are a small company with only 8 centers, we are at max capacity (as usual) in a couple of weeks all CMD users will be able to use this protocol for Diesel cars, we are not sure if we will give them the info for the petrol cars.

This is this first time a vendor claiming a successful flash/re-write is directly communicating with us. What a relief.

In for updates

By the way in the last week I had a local tuner claiming he could do the same thing you are saying you can do. So you must not be the only one to have figured this out.

Over the last couple of weeks/months several tuners (at least in Europe) claim to have access to the DME and can do flash tuning. It seems that they have found a way to crack the 10 hour time lock in the DME. Unlocking the time lock makes the DME open to changes in software.

I don't know If this is the case here.
