305/30/19s

Need a lil help boys...Monday I'm installing the 305s to the rear stock wheels moving the stock rear 275/35/19 to the front. Tire calculator says diameter difference is 1.4% .. Has anyone done this before any problems with rubbing???

I just calculated the stock tires that came with the car dia difference front to back is 2.1% so computer should be happyer with the 305s rite???

Thought 295 was the wildest you could go on stock?

No, someone is running 305s. I saw it in the photo forum. I think they're running BC wheels. Maybe you can search on that... he has his offsets and everything in the first post.

But, I believe he is running 265s in the front.

Yes but those people are running a 305 tire but on a wider wheel (BC) than stock... likely a 10.5 or 11" wheel. Stock is 10" and a 305 tire would require at least a 10.5" wheel based on manufacturer specs. It will be possible to mount it but it will be on a wheel too narrow and outside of manufacturer tolerances. It may be dangerous (although maybe OK), but I suspect the OP will hate the driving feel as it will be very sloppy and the sidewall won't have sufficient support from the wheel itself. You can't go wider than a 295 on a 10" stock wheel.

EDIT: Sorry, I think I misread your post and my response wasn't really related to your comment .

OP, rubbing aside, 305 is too wide for a 10" stock wheel. However, you likely will not rub on the fender with the conservative stock offset. You may, however, need a spacer to avoid rubbing the strut but that's an easy fix if it is an issue... the real issue is the tire doesn't fit the wheel properly.

The only 305s that I know of that have fit on stock 10" rear wheels are the Mickey Thompsons that TPG Racing used.

I have 295 MPSS rears on mine and they had trouble getting them on, but they are a massive upgrade over stock. I don't think 305 MPSS would have fit.

You have put 295/30 or 35?

I tried 275 on a 9" on my last c63 since the 255 was terrible...It was the limit. On my 997S PDK, the 305 are on 11" wheels. I know for sure that some people put 305 on 10.5" wheels on M5 F10

+1 on above

The 305 is not gonna work. At the last track day we have a couple guys with 295s on stock rear wheels. Looked good.

That's not a good idea. I have 305/30/19 and they match perfect with 265/35/19. You putting your rears on the front will make a huge difference in the diameter and will cause DSC issues (it will go off all the time) and it will look off. I would buy the correct fronts or get 295/35/19 and then use the rears on the front.

Here is a pic of my new set up. I think it's perfect if you want the same look.

Front: 9.5 inch wheel ET 20
Tires: 265/35/19

Rear: 11 inch wheel ET 40
Tires: 305/30/19

I'd just ordered MP4S 275/35/19 front and 305/30/19 rear using the same M4 stock rims. Anyone tried this set up? any issues? Thanks in advance.
