I'm not saying I have all the money in the world to blow or that it's smart to continue to take hits on vehicles. But a hit here and there is the price to pay for what you love; cars. Some are willing to pay that price, others are not. It's that simple. However, continually hemorrhaging money left to right on car deals is most definitely a problem.

Something about the first two must've displeased you in order to get rid of them so fast.

I had the same thing with Subaru STI's(use to adore them)in the past. Got a 2011 STi sedan, sold it to get a 2012 STi hatchback version of the same car. Sold that to. After two more cars came back to the 2015 STI because something about the car made me want one again. I sold it in 3 months with absolute disappointment in the car and ordered the M3.

My point? Skip the M4 and either try something new or stick with the RS7, which is an amazing car!
Like I've said a few times. I got rid of the 1St one for reasons that have nothing to do with whether I liked it or not.

The 2nd one just barely had any options at all...One was dct and the 2nd one was 6mt. I missed dct and all the options of the 1St one.

UPDATE: I chose to go with an AW 2016 F83 M4. I'm happy with my choice. I just hate this whole break in period lol

There are times I miss the RS7, but then again, there are times I miss a lot of my previous cars lol I'll keep this for a good while and then we'll see what comes next.

I appreciate all of the helpful comments.

Congrats, i guess i am too late with my suggestion. I was going to say, if you or the people around you thought leaving RS7 for M4 would be a 'downgrade', did you ever consider the M6?

He said he felt his M5 was too heavy, an M6 would be a similar case I assume.

Congrats on the new purchase, thanks for the update too. Many a time i follow threads all the way to the end with no update from the OP and left wondering what happened =(

Thank you to the both of you. Yes that's correct...if I would've gone M6 I would've just stayed with the RS...I would've been better off going GT3 or GTS if I hadn't gone with the M4, but I didn't feel like spending another 130K + local dealer mark up in such a short period of time lol

I test drove an RS7 and bought my 2nd M3 the next day. I totally get it. The RS7 is less enjoyable to drive than the M5 or M3 (I've owned an F10 M5 before as well - handles great - better than the RS7, it's just not as nimble as a lighter M3/4). The RS7 is big, and super fast, but a super fast boat gets old in a hurry. The RS7 looks bonkers, but the looks don't match the driving enjoyment, and at 125k+, it needs to do more than win every drag race.

I installed these sway bars on the car and it really transformed it; no it didn't fix the weight issue but it clearly made lateral movement better and pulled out some of that nasty Quattro understeer. I also tuned the car and it was a keeper. I usually keep cars 6-9 months (except the BS and R8) and the RS7 lasted 11 LOL which says a lot for me. You might want to consider this, if you haven't already along with a tune which will give you crazy dig and roll performance.

Here is my quote at Audizine and the thread with the sways:

RS7 SWAY BAR THREAD
Better question how the heck do you decide on what to drive with those cars in your garage! lol

I'm not too big of a fan of the R8 to be honest...I've driven it extensively, a friend of mine has one. I'd be gunning for an R8 V10 Plus and at 200k there's quite a bit more I'd explore. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have a feeling a Cayman GTS or GT4 would be your sweet spot. (I'd suggest a 991 GT3 but that is really a track star and complete overkill for street use.)

I'm considering purchasing my 3rd M4, however, this one is a convertible with every option except ceramic. The F83 is a 2015 with 6k miles. Part of me really wants to do it, but part of me doesn't. The RS7 is pretty rare in my area, only about 3 within a 250 mile radius, but there's a fair amount of F82's.

I would be getting some money back on this deal due to the equity I have in the RS and the fact that I have to pay no taxes on the trade in, but I'd also be loosing some money as well. The F83 is $800 less per month. I paid 127k for the RS the used F83 is 78K.

Am I stupid for even considering this?!! A lot of my friends and family seem to think so. They feel as though it's a downgrade, even though they're 2 very different animals. I just miss how fun the M4 was to drive.
you are crazy i would love an rs7 and then tune it, thing is a monster. If i had the money that would be my next car

So many f8x fanboys in here. I love the car a ton but an rs7 puts it to shame. Let's be realistic. The car is half the price for a reason.

Half the price super base. Paid 90k for the F83. The RS is great, and if you'd buy one that's good, happy for the both of you. But it looks like you own a '16 RS7 already, which makes sense as to your defensiveness. It just wasn't for me.

Going 991.2 GTS after the M4. I have to get it out of my system lol

Mtastic4, I believe you've never had an RS7, and you're talking about your friend's RS7 as being yours. Very lowly...
