agreed your right. my only beef is with the rear bumper, reflector, diffusor area. the rest is fine. the power dome is questionable aswell but hey if you want smooth all the way around get an alpina i guess

That will be a mighty powerful garage.

Lol I dismissed the C63 for the exact same reason until I drove a '10 with PP back in 2011. It was probably one of the very first non 3 pedals cars I seriously considered owning.

I have test driver a C63 AMG and an E63 AMG back to back. The luxury features on the E63 were much nicer (no surprise), but obviously a larger car compared to the smaller and more nimble C63. Both sounded great and both had plenty of thrust, however, to each there own. I never was much of a MB fan from a style perspective, but this is why some people like Breitling, vs. Rolex, vs. IWC, etc. I would never turn down a AMG, but I like Porsche, Audi, and BMW more.

Something about the new C-Class looks very docile. Maybe it's the droopy rear that they ported from the S-Class. Can't really see myself driving it. Its not a bad looking car and I think it looks better than the outgoing model but it's just not a very aggressive looking car at all. I'll reserve final judgement for when AMG gets their hands on it. No DCT or Manual is also a minus. But that engine... That engine will probably be AMAZING and its sound will be even better.

With that said. I'm still going to get an F80 or F82. Call me a brand whore but I can't really see myself in anything but an M. It provides the total experience for me from exterior to interior to powertrain. If the F80 provides an all around experience like the E46 and E9x did... That's where my money's going. These other cars always have some type of shortcoming. Really good at some things but not good at everything.

The E63 shifting/transmission sucks big-time. Was the C63 equally lame?

it is certainly no dsg or dct, but it down shifted nicely enough with a fat blip. the main things the c63 convinces with are the sound and the feeling of being in a small car attached to a massive engine. Again, the sound of the 63 engine out the back of the exhausts always made me and passengers smile every siingle time without fail. it was a true muscle car with matching sound. pedestrians either thumbed up or did the slow down wave mainly the thumbs up. i remember driving by a bus stop of school kids and gave them a big couple of revs and a speedy take off and they were all grinning and smiling. truly fun.

Only the soon-to-be retired SLS and new A45/CLA45 have a DCT transmission. And the latter inherit the DCT from their non-AMG siblings. So none of the models using the 5.5L M157 turbocharged V8 have DCT, and it's not known whether this will change once the new 4.0L M177 V8 arrives in the W205. Personally, I do not give the chance for DCT a high probability, but we'll see.

The C63 felt better, but when I got back into the M, I definitely enjoyed the DCT transmission more. The M felt more connected and less like a traditional automatic.

The W205 AMG will have a DCT. So will the replacement for the outgoing SLS.

Just like how the C63 AMG and SLS AMG shared the same engine (although the SLS had a more aggressive tune and some upgraded forged intenerals), both the next-generation C-Class AMG and the next-generation SLS will share the same 4.0L biturbo V8.

Surely the new AMG flagship (rumored to be called "AMG GT", btw) will again have a DCT, yes, but as far as I know, the W205 AMG transmission is not yet confirmed.

Yep, but like last time, they might not have the same transmission.

The last hard-top and drop-top versions of the SLS were called SLS AMG GTs as well.

I know it hasn't been publicly confirmed yet but I'm getting the information from a very, very reliable source within AMG.

I`m not sure about the new C Class styling. Will see IRL for final judgement.

A V8 TT will not be a light engine on the front axle, yes it will have power, but steering wise I do have some doubt here.

True, but not simply "AMG GT" as is the rumor for the C190.

I have to say the interior has grown on me in the last few days, but the exterior looks sad, droopy like an ol' set of hooters
