quietest tire for commute?

2017 ZCP F80 M3 with TC Kline DA coilovers + downpipe & M Performance exhaust and the NVH is wearing on me a bit. currently on 666m rims with Michelin PS4S, any tire that can at least offset the road noise?

I don't think a different tire is going to help you.

Noise is probably from the downpipes and MPE.
Vibration and harshness is probably from the coil overs and 20s.

Go down to 18s with 40 side walls - it'll change your life.

I went from a totally stock 17 ZCP m3 on 666m's (also on NEW michelin Pilot 4S, not mpss) to 18" 513m's with OEM MPSS sizing.

I honestly didn't notice a HUGE difference in NVH, maybe 10% less... just sayin.

The botts dots on roads and tar snakes still bother me, and part of that is from the MPSS sidewalls and solid mounted rear subframes in our cars (possibly the zcp valving/tuning and 20" combo), and ZCP spring rates are supposedly stiffer too.

NorCal SFBAY roads are not as bad as east coast, however its still garbage compared to most roads.

I can tell you DO NOT GET Conti ECS tires on 666m they are worse then michelins (at least on concrete they are worse, asphalt slightly better).

I hear you, but by your metric, that 10% can make all of the difference when on coil overs. My Bilstein B16D were rough enough on 18s, and would probably have been unbearable for me on 20s. Moot point, since I dumped them anyways.

I think we can both agree that a tire change from a street tire on 20s isn't going to do anything for OP's NVH concerns compared to downsizing wheels with fatter tires.

It's amazing how different the opinion is of the 18 inch ECS vs. the 19/20s. Seems like they're completely opposite reviews. I couldn't love my 18 inch ECS tires any more, especially in dry-cold temps.

It IS amazing. I have the exact opposite review as well. I have both PS4S and Conti ECS. Conti ECS is definitely quieter and softer compared to the PS4S. Don't get me wrong, the PS4S is a kick ass tire, but definitely louder than the ECS.

OP, given that you have camber plates etc, you have to adjust tires and suspension as a whole. Try playing with the tire pressure and damper settings. I change tire pressure from a range o f 30 psi to 36 psi (cold) depending on summer vs winter vs track or street driving. I found that even daily driving with RE71Rs, comfort was manageable when you set it to a lower psi.

Agreed!

And another post someone mentioned the OP is on stock camber plates/upper mounts....

OP is that true? Or did you go full tilt with the TCK coils and adjustable plates as well ?

I can say from experience that camber plates add more NVH.

Bridgestone S007A's are quieter than PS4S's. I put a set on my street wheels to limit the rocks the Cup 2's flick up everywhere and stone chip the car, and the S007A's are the nicest street tyre I've driven on and quieter than any Michelin I've used.

You may want to switch from 19" to 18". There is going to be a huge difference, also as stated above a 40 series sidewall is a life changer.

I had Cup 2's and the road noise was sooo loud and annoying. I Switched tires to the Continental DWS06 and they're super quiet and I'm very happy with them (but nothing quite handles corners like the Cup2's did). I have the 763m Staggered wheel setup, same as the CS

I had great results with Advan Apex v601 on my Alfa Quad. Swapped out from the original Corsa AR tires. Not a straight comparison, but great tires.
