Hi everyone,
I'm picking up my M3 next Monday and will be driving it for two months in Europe I signed all the paperwork but there is nothing about paying for the extra insurance. The purchase order and the email from BMW ED say "Total insurance 2 months" and "drop off date no later than 9/17". I asked my CA about that but he claims that I'll pay for the insurance at the Welt. Is that correct? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that I have to pay beforehand. |

2 months? That's going to be an epic trip.
You pay for the insurance when paying for the car. Not at the WELT from my experience. If I were you I'd check everything asap to make sure you're covered for 2 months, as it cannot be extended once issued. When I extended mine to 1 month it was added to the pre-tax amount.

Thank you for your input. I'm going to call the ED department on Monday and maybe they will get the dealer to take care of it because he keeps telling me not to worry. |

It looks like the ED department knows I'm doing 2 months. I just didn't pay for it. |

I needed two months of insurance too and I kept telling the dealer I read somewhere it needed to be paid prior to the ED date. Finally two days before I left they told me I needed to pay for the extended insurance right away. So yes, you need to pay it to the dealer before you leave.

I'm going to call the ED people tomorrow and have them reach out to my CA because I'm pretty sure he won't listen to me. |
