My F82 had a iStep version M (NBTEVO_M) being a 4 yr old car so I got the HU updated to NBTEVO_Y last week. The mechanics also 'installed' full screen apple Car Play too for a wee sum of money

An added bonus was that I was also able to update the BMW Navigation maps too to EVO EUROPE 2021-3. So happy days all round!

For anyone looking into this, from what I've found if you have NBT_EVO_X or later (I have NBT_EVO_Y), you can activate fullscreen Carplay through Bimmercode via Headunit > Expert mode > HMI 3000 > CARPLAY_FULLSCREEN and selecting "aktiv." This worked for me and only took a couple minutes to do

This is a G21 that came with iDrive 6 unfortunately, not a big deal if carplay could be bigger ^^
