Be careful in 5-6. Get it wrong and you'll be on your top. I was actually talking about corner 1. In the E92 M3 it is 155mph......no lift through the kink ( before the repave ). It must be even faster now.

My turn; still relatively new to Laguna Seca (3 track days)... Did a 1:47 as the best time of the day. JRZ RS2, Endless ME20, NT01, Stock engine/stock exhaust.. My goal is to get to a 1:44 soon...Car can do it definitely, I need more seat time ..

Good job, low 1:40's looks doable with that setup. I like that camera position, one of the better ones I've seen on the M4.

Thank you.. A good friend of mine who was there that day and is an advanced driver and way, way more skilled than I am did 1:44 in my car with traffic, while explaining me the line and passing a car down turn 9 (after corkscrew) all at the same time....... so I definitely know I can get there.. with practice haha!

Its interesting you say that, I like it too but it needs improvement. My plan is to to tweak the camera position a bit to point more at my steering wheel and turn spot metering on, then I plan to put another gopro on the front bumper to capture the front view.. Kinda like (another friend of mine) did with his GT4 below but not as sophisticated - video shot the same day I was there. He did a 1:40 on his first day with his GT4 .. the GT3s at Laguna are in about the 1:38 range so he was only a second or two off...This video below is worth a watch even though its' not an M4.. he is very skilled. I sat with him in his GT4 and was blown away by his skills.

For Buttonwillow CW13, we should include the 1:51 run by Rif Dagher in the Platte Forme AG F80 M3 Sedan on Maxxis R comp tires.

Sonoma Raceway

Ground Control suspension and camber plates
Adaptive shocks
Fastest Lap; 1:58.55 (M lap timer)
RS29 pads
285/30X18 Front and 315/30X18 rear
DCT transmission
No nannies

Track day with Track Masters and Speed Ventures at Sonoma Raceway July 16, 2016. The Cayman GTS that I let by is slightly faster. But for two sessions we stayed together; but we had to contend with 38 other cars on the track. My best time was 1:58.55. Would be faster without the traffic. Really liking the Ground Control suspension and camber plates. The M4 really felt planted through the esses without all the sway side to side with the stock springs on a previous outing to Sonoma.

What tire are you using? Good to here The GC system is working for you. I was thinking it would take different dampers to get rid of that rear end wiggle wobble, but seems like springs alone may do the trick. Maybe I will put in those swift springs that have been sitting in my garage for 6 months, LOL!

I got to get up to Sonoma, looks like an awesome track. I'm sure I can convince wife of a road trip. She can visit the wineries whilst I'm at the track.

Fanatic1: I'm doing HPDE August 26 and 27 at Laguna Seca as part of BMW Oktoberfest.

Maynardzed:
The tires are Hoosier R7. Sonoma is challenging, fun, but not forgiving with all of the close walls. It is a bucket list item for sure. I hope to get to AMP someday but it would be in the winter.

I went 2:29.3 at sebring today. I can only get about 3-4 laps in then the brakes really start to fade. My mods are pss10s, tc kline plates, Pagid rs29s, zcp swaybars, potenza re71s. 0* toe in front. 3* camber. oem spec rear adjustments. I need to try my oem front bar because I think the zcp bar is contributing to understeer off power.

Nice! No additional camber, right? Did you replace the X1 with an M2? Post up on OhioBimmers

Besides, before I posted here, there are more times at mid ohio in the M2 forum (one) than there are in this thread (zero)!

Yes, the X1 was wrecked on the street. No camber, just pads and fluids. It needs camber up front though for tire wear.

Went out to Big Willow for the first time yesterday. Speed District ran the event. It was a pretty hot day ( ~95 degrees) and the track was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. All the turns seem to flow/mesh very well together. My best time was a comfortable 1:35.3. Lots of time on the table all over the track. Looking forward to getting back out there. Here's a link to a video of couple 1:35 laps:

We just did our first race event - the O'fest races at Sonoma and Laguna Seca. David Alpan did a 1:38.756 at Laguna Seca. Not too bad for first weekend out.
