I suspect
A car with ZCP will have a higher resale.
A car with ZCP already has a higher cost.
The delta between the higher cost and higher resale will continue to shrink over time.

So, you will get less for the car upon resale, but you paid less.

So...
Get the car ZCP does not matter that much for a vert (IMHO) and the higher resale just means you pay more for it today.

I drove non-zcp 6spd and zcp 6spd back to back. The zcp is a must have.

Buy the car that YOU like, not the one that you think the next guy might like. If resale is your primary concern, this really isn't the right car to be buying anyway.

The value that you get with ZCP, especially when talking about buying a used car, made it a no brainer to me. You get both looks and performance improvements imo for not that much more cost. It was a must have for me, but you need to decide on what's most important to you. In fact, I sacrificed on color to get the ZCP car I wanted and I have no regrets.

I think I will just try to be patient and buy one with the ZCP. I'm sure one will pop up eventually!

I understand that I shouldn't be buying a car for resale value that's not my concern and I understand cost now vs cost later. But once I do decide to move on from it I would prefer to have a car that is desirable and is easy to move.

You guys are the best, hopefully I will officially join the group as an owner soon. If anyone hears of a M4 vert with 6mt fully loaded for sale send me a message!

Thanks

To me there’s little difference between the cars. If anything my 15 was a bit more fun to drive than my 18 comp due to the low down brunt torque and snappy nature. If near price obviously get the Comp but if paying a premium skip it.

I have come to the conclusion if I find one I'll either have to fly to it to drive it or just buy it without driving.

It won't make a huge difference. I just ran a check for my car without ZCP and with ZCP.

With ZCP, trade in value is $53,513~58392, Average $55953
Without ZCP, trade in value is $52143~57022 Average $54583

So people who paid upfront for $5500 for a ZCP only get 1.5K on average?

This is everything minus full leather with 437M wheels (19").

In the eyes of an enthusiast, it may matter more in the future, but for now, ROI is low. If you want a competition car and flex your muscle with your additional 19 HP and it makes you feel good, then get it. If you won't be jealous of ZCP cars, then I wouldn't care. 425 HP vs 444 HP is like no difference since this car is so freakin fast already.
