Startup in Sport?

I have an M3 competition.
I know to do this on the F30 you would have to code it, but with this car, is it possible to set it so it starts up in Sport automatically? Or will it always start in comfort?

Thanks!

Nope, always comfort. I’ve trained myself to just hit M1 as part of my start up routine

Yeah, me too. I hit the M1 immediately. I'm just greedy and want the flaps to be open straight away lol

Bimmercode it to keep the valves open.

What parameter is this? I didn’t know BimmerCode does this.

If you want the flaps open right from the start, get a CG Precision Valve controller and configure it to default to open. I have had Four different S55 engined cars and I've installed one of these on all of them.

I have thought about this. The ones I've seen seem to be controllable from the indicator, which seems like a pain in the arse to me.
Do you have one with a remote?
Did you install yourself?

Thanks

The one I have requires no programming. It comes with a key fob with "on/off" buttons. You do have the option of syncing the fob to two of your homelink buttons which is usually what I do. Yes I've installed all mine myself. Very easy. You basically just remove one but from the rear exhaust hanger, slide the unit on the bolt, put the nut back on, and retighten. Then you just plug it in to the existing valves. Aside from the one nut you have to remive, the install is literally plug and play.

Normally I backed the car onto a set of race ramps for the install. But even that's not completely required one time I didn't have access to my race ramps, so I just backed the car on to a curb at the opening of my folks driveway. Worked like a charm.

If you want flaps open all the time just unplug the sensors on the exhaust. Easy and free and reversible. I don't get why anyone would buy a valve controller unless they actually just want to be able to open/close it frequently outside of using eco/sporrt/s+.

I do prefer to have full control. One reason, is that I want to be able to actually fully close the valve for cold starts in the morning to quiet the car so I don't piss off my neighbors. i'm usually starting my car about five in the morning

And by the way, you cannot "code" the F30 to start in Sport mode, either - nor any other BMW, for that matter.

I have my F48 X1 coded to start in sport mode. Did it via Bimmercode.

Your X1 is based on a MINI (UKL) platform with a different electronic system. Not the same as a genuine BMW.
