Using shell 93 gave me significantly lower range
I usually go to Costco for gas and fill up using 91. Occasionally go to shell and use 91 as well. Both give me around 330 miles of range give or take 10-15 mi. I know that using different gas can give you different range.
Was away for the holidays this weekend and stopped by a shell that happened to have 93 so I filled up with that and I was shocked to see that despite a full tank the range only read 287. It was my understanding that octane shouldn't affect performance/gas mileage. Is this normal? What do you all get on a full tank (for those who use 93) |

Are you talking about actual measured mileage or simply the range to empty indicated? If its just the range to empty screen I wouldn't put any reliance on that at all.

The range shown on the cluster is just an estimate... and usually reflects your previous fill-up and driving habits (ex: if you drove hard the previous tank... the next fillup will show less range)
Dont put any thought in to that. The only thing what would make a difference is non ethanol fuel vs E-10. |
