Should I lease an M3 for $630/mo?

I have an F30 340i and previously had a 335i, but I have never had or even driven an M3.

I found an unbelievable deal on a 2018 M3 for $630 a month. But I’m wondering if I should choose it instead of the new G20 M340i which I can get for $650 a month?

Why don't you drive it and decide for yourself? Ultimately it is a personal decision as you will own it, not the members on this board.

Is 630 after taxes (I'm assuming not)? If so, that's pretty good, I'd jump on that.

If you're in NYC then I have a feeling you can find another M3 less than 8 hours away to test drive.

Test drive local, make a decision, then you can pull the trigger on the one 8 hours away if you want to go for it.

Personally an M3 will always feel more special, even if the new M340 is rock solid. I'd jump into the F80 lease then you can jump into the new G-series M3 once your lease expires.

M340i will be smoother to drive around town, and has slightly better mpg.

MY18 M3 will be more fun to drive when you're not in traffic, otherwise, you won't even get close to unleashing its full potential.

I'd go with the M340i if both were priced the same, but in this case, the MY18 M3 gets my vote.

Is this a humblebrag thread? You know $630 is an unbelievable deal.

Unless you plan to put a burble tune on it. In that case, no, you shouldn’t take this deal

I can't even get my mind around the concept of choosing an M340i over an M3. Not a close call at all. Get the real M car.

$630 is actually a regular deal on an MY18 nowadays. Keep in mind this is about how much the MY16s were leasing for... There's a member on LH who managed to score an M3CS lease in the $500 range with no MSDs.

If that were true I'd be driving an F80 by now

The story is quite simple. You're either aware or unaware. End of story.

OP its a tough choice. The M3 is a beast, but so is the M340. the new technology of the m340 is pretty nice. I think like others have said if you can drive both and go from there. I personally would go with the M just bc I am a M addict but thats just me, everyone is different.

I think those who have not driven the new 3 yet would find it hard to figure you would pick it over the M3 but once you drive it you can see how you could see there being a little wiggle room in some areas.

also not sure how someone got a M3CS for 5xx a month unless they put a lot down, would love to see the breakdown of the whole deal. MF, residual, downpayment, fees, etc..

I believe I found it on Leasehackr but it's not a M3 CS. It's a M3 ZCP with $92k MSRP.

If it was a humblebrag, it would end with "No Lah"

not a CS ok, but even a regular M3 that deal is insane if legit. Maybe dealer had it on the lot forever and needed it gone the flooring was adding up who knows but dang def dont use that as a bar for something that is going to happen all the time. Good on the buyer def got himself a good deal on that M3 if you are into that color combo and options. def lowest I have seen so far

Look (much) better.
Be a real M car.
Faster, better handling.
DCT transmission more fun and engaging than auto.
M Buttons for instant configurability.
Suitable for tracking on the weekend.

For me, the M3 is the perfect daily. It’s a special car that makes me happy every time I walk up to it and climb in, and even happier when I drive it. I wouldn’t
Get that from an M340i, even though it’s a really good car with good power.

But hey, I get it. It’s a personal preference.
