Light oil leak around pan/drain plug?
Early model 2015. Coming up to 60k miles.
Never noticed this issue before and no leak prior until I started to see a couple drops of oil in the garage. Any guesses before I try and pull off the skid plate and dive deeper? |

It’s hard to tell with just that picture, but it could be your oil pan gasket or loose/missing washer on the oil pan drain bolt. Take off that aluminum cover and get a better picture.

It still drips very very slowly. I checked my oil levels everyday and it hasn’t moved.
I actually have an oil change coming up so hoping it’s just a faulty washer or something. We will see. |

Got the crush washer in place? Could be damaged threads on the pan. If so, check out Time-Sert repair kits. Used this with great success on my N55 X5 due to a heavy handed dealer…

And you were right, I’m doing my oil change now and the threads on the pan are damaged. Will definitely check out time-sert repair kit or just upgrade the pan to steel. |

Just makes sure to get all the threads and shavings out of the pan. I used a 90 degree pick and dumped about 1/2quart through and let it drain out. Ran the next oil change for about 4400 miles. Sent it in for a UOA, and there is no elevated aluminum compared to the averages. No shavings in the filter. Really impressed with the kit.
