bent oil cooler

So i just got my f80 m3 about a week ago, anyways unfortunately i hit a semi-tire going to work and bent my oil cooler.

I purchased that Mishimoto oil cooler and watch a few diy however many of them failed to mention if any kind of priming is required. I took the car to a few shops and they quoted me over 900 to fix it. From what i saw the oil cooler is like 4 bolts. However I wanted to know the priming process and if it is required and how to do it. I have found much online after a few hours of research. Any help??

You should, fill the oil cooler with fresh oil and connect the lines, there should be enough room to flex lines as you’re putting in the new oil cooler full with oil. It’s always good to prime the system so there’s not so much air in it.

ok yea i was going to do that but i dont need to like take the injector out and like crank it to circulate oil. I was thinking just fill that up and minimize oil loss as much as possible.

You can undo the two big hex bolts that are on top of your oil thermostat and pour (warm) oil down one tube to prime the oil cooler.

Exactly. You can fill through those. Fill down one, watch down the other.

I used those two ports with a vacuum suction setup to clean out my oil cooler during an oil change.

Do i need to remove the intake and all that to? If so that fine but it seems that those two bolts come right out and i could just use a funnel or some sort?

Any idea on the torque requirement?

It works with the intake in place. I used my skinny funnel.

For the bolts I just marked them with sharpie and tightened back to the same spots.
