Homelink stopped working after 7.5 years...
Hi. Has anybody experienced issues with their homelink? I had no issues programming mine to a Liftmaster garage door opener with rolling code. It worked without issues for over 7 yrs, then suddenly stopped working recently. There was nothing the precipitated this. No battery issues, didn't do any servicing or modifications to the car. It just stopped working.
The homelink buttons still throw a signal and I am able to successfully reprogram all 3 buttons to open the garage door but after I turn the car off and come back a few minutes later, the buttons stop working. I've tried reprogramming successfully at least 3x and every single time it works right after the programming, then stops working within minutes. All the buttons still light up like normal as if it's sending a signal, but apparently no signal is being sent. Does anybody know if there is a battery or something within the homelink module itself that needs to be replaced? It seems to be getting power to the module as the buttons light up when pressed. Also, I know it's not the garage door opener itself as I just recently reprogrammed two remotes and the homelink in my wife's car and my other car and everything works perfectly without issue... only my F80 does not seem to retain the programming. |
