There is also the matter of the Dinan muffler vs. stock. Stock '15 muffler interferes with the spring loaded cover for the detachable receiver.

I have the same bike rack, and would love to use it on my F80 as I had done on an F86. But on the M3, I wonder if the mount/rack may be low enough to have clearance issues. Any issues with clearance on driveways or at trailheads with uneven parking surfaces? |

Sick rig. Rockin' a Hightower 29 here. Good chance of occasional clearance issues, scraped several uneven parking surfaces with a 335i MSport/ Invisihitch/ Thule setup. M3 a bit lower. You should be fine paying better attention than i did.

So far no issues with hitch, bigger clearance problems with front airdam! Had a couple of scrapes on that already - fortunately can't see it unless you are underneath. No issues with the hitch.
Dropped the hitch tonight - really looks good, center diffuser is cut back a bit but can't tell unless you are looking for it. Yeah - love SC bikes, this is my second and wow, the Tallboy corners like nothing I've ridden with the 27+ setup and the 2.8's! |

I have searched the Hidden Hitch web site and can find no hitch recommended for 3 series cars. My car, BTW, is an F83. Which hitch did you use to when Turner installed yours?

Execu-hitch, they noted it was for an F80 install, but it is a hitch for an F30.

I have the same rack and the same hitch (great minds and all that). It works well, but will require a different muffler and a slight trim of the rear diffuser on the F80.

"Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not have a product that fits your vehicle. I've added you to our development request list and will reach out if we are able to accommodate you in the future. Best of luck, Kelsey" Sooo are they lying to me? Does Execuhitch actually fit our cars (F80)? Anyone have an Execuhitch recently installed & working on their M3? |

Ok, so like many here I ran into problems wtih my 2016 F80. InvisiHitch said they cannot install it due to " Fitment issues." My response to them was "I am here in Atlanta take the car for a few days, fabricate it." Sorry, we can't do it. InvisiHitch with this attitude won't be in business long, as they continue to alienate their customer base, or what's left of it....Moving on as execuhitch didnt work either. In the long run that is GREAT!
So I dropped the car off in sugar Hill, yes living in metro Atlanta has a perk. It's the home of Stealth Hitch and the expertise of Steve Nance, he fabricates what he needs in house with ecoated painted hitches and yes, they are also hidden very well. I was impressed with the engineering that went into the design, from electrical magnets for hook up when not in use, the receiver for the hitch and the locking mechanism, and much more. When he put my F80 on the lift Steve looked at the immediate problem he saw without moving one bolt, screw, or nut. The heat shield int he middle where the receiver for the hitch would be, he said we will carefully bend it towards the muffler, but not rub against it. We just need a little clearance. he picked up the receiver and showed me where it would be once the hitch was mounted to the frame. I will be happy to provide pictures when the work is completed. Once he is done with my car he will have the ability to fabricate and provide instructions to his dealers/installers all over the US. because he will be the ONLY one who can do this fabrication and install. As I said Invisihitch refused to do it - IMHO good, I don't want to deal with you guys any way. Everything happens for a reason, in this case finding and working with Steve @ stealth hitches. Execuhitch- just is a complete failure mounting to a F80. I tried calling them months ago, no response...what ever. If you have any questions or concerns PM me or if its directly related to Stealth Hitch, PLEASE contact Steve @ Stealth hitches...Trust me, he will be the ONLY one who can fabricate and provide instructions for a F80, once he is done with my car. |

In summary: The F30 Execuhitch will work if you have a smaller than stock aftermarket muffler to avoid interference with the receiver latch cover (or just remove the cover) and don't mind trimming your diffuser a bit. Folks removed the heat shield in that area with no issues.

The Curt hitch for the F30 works like a champ as well.
I installed it myself over a year ago. The only clearance issue was the rear-most heat shield, which I just left off during re-assembly. No issues with that. |

Ditto to all of this save for the time horizon. I had mine installed a couple of months ago. My installer left the heat shield off. I’ve since had a track weekend and the bumper was fine despite the lack of a heat shield
