Bought my '18 last December and plan to keep it at least for 7-8 years.
By that time, I'm sure I'll have the itch to get something new. If I have the financial means to keep the M3 then, I'll definitely keep it forever. |

If it's anything like my last car. Forever, until it doesn't make sense.

I plan to do all of the above in this thread:
Keep this car as my DD until the next G80 competition LCI, then lease that as my DD. At that point I'll buy out the F80 for 99% autocross/track duty. Once the running/repair costs are too much for autocross/track duty I'll probably just throw it in a barn/shed & store it for my kids to find one day. Maybe then an ICE 6-Speed manual will be worth a lot! This is my first M car, did Euro delivery, took it around the Ring, so as long as it's running I don't think I'll ever be able to let it go!!! |

2015 F83. Great DD in SoCal. Keeping it until it bites the dust.

That's going to be the move if I run out of warranty and decide to keep the car.

It does, see my post above. While the M3/4 will likely share the same engine/drivetrain features I think BMW plans to differentiate them visually much more.

This is my first M car, and first new car... I plan to keep it forever, or at least until I trade up for a P car in 8/10 years.
Until then I will enjoy the hell out of my M3 every day! |

Until the next itch but I am planning to keep it way longer. IMHO, this is one of the best sporty DD in its segment. It is the perfect size for me. Not to big (M5) and not too small (M2).

+1. This is the perfect size sedan IMHO, balances nimbleness and usability very well. Plan on keeping this until I run it into the ground.
