Looking at the MSport 4 series and the M4 I just don't know what's wrong with the MSport. Something is not right.
They did the M4 right, the MSport is just not right. So many more styling cues are hyper inflated over the MSport. The M4 is a better looking car for sure. It's better looking than the E92 M3. |

That's the color scheme M is using for their cars since the new M6.

Incredible looking car. Better looking than my E92 M3? Yea I think so. I like the look of all four and now make it five generations of M3/M4 but this might just be the best. Will have to see it live in standard non concept trim and parked next to an E92 and an E46 in order to decide for myself. Way to go BMW!

This is the best looking car BMW has designed in years. It's definitely a big improvement over the current E92 M3 which already looks amazing. I don't think any other designers could have done a better job.

What I meant was what kind of setup they will be running, looks like the M Carbon Ceramic option features a 6-pistons front caliper and a 4-pistons rear caliper... I think the standard one may also get a 6-piston front but not sure about the rear.

I am liking the M4 concept but I also loved the Concept 4 series. The only difference is BMW took everything good on Concept 4 series and dulled it down and made it boring.
I am now scared the same will happen to M4. I hope not because mostly it looks good except for the lack of functional hood vents and lack of Concept 4 series LED headlights. If the styling stays exactly like this I am not so sure that M4 is out right better looking. The C7 looks more like an exotic sports car while the M4 looks like an aggressive GT car. It think I would have to say I like the looks of C7 better with a proper functional hood vent. The interior I like of C7 more because the M4 looks pretty much like the 3 series. They should have took a page out of 6 series book and made the 4 series interior more edgy and sporty. As for performance from all indications the C7 is gonna be a monster. I am so hoping that M4 is not a let down. It is NA vs FI engine. I love NA but I am not bias against a good FI engine either. I am pretty sure looking at the N54 that BMW can do a very low turbo lag engine. If the throttle response and turbo lag is in check and the engine screams to rumored near 8K rpm that would be great. I still think that unless the M4 has 444hp and 444 lb-ft of torque the C7 V8 with 460hp will be hard to beat. As for EPS now this could be the huge obstacle in my opinion. If the steering is mute and can't convey the feel and feedback in either car. Then that will be a big let down. No matter how good the chassis is. As far as gas mileage goes the C7 with its cylinder deactivation seems like a better concept to me then the stumbling bumbling start stop. This is another area where it will be interesting to see how BMW competes to make things better or at least on par. As for practicality to carry more in a crunch the M4 has clear edge thanks to 2+2 and is more family friendly. As for track performance so far no generation vs generation the Corvette has always had the edge. It is yet to be seen if BMW can pull a GT-R like edge over others in its M cars. So the edge would be C7 unless proven otherwise. Now price wise the C7 has an edge you can get fully loaded for less then $60K. I highly doubt that will be the case with M4 with recent trend of BMW pricing. None the less the M4 concept is looking much better then the production 4 series. I am just hoping they don't dull it down like they did with the concept 4 series. Quote:

Thanks for all the pics of the underside!
Seeing how the left exhaust seems to go back over to the right one, I guess that puts an end to the V6 rumors. Valvetronic is BMW's response to cylinder deactivation, not stop/start. |
