The aluminum around the vent is paper thin. Get some sand paper, fold it a few times so you have a flat surface and sand to get the vent to fit. The easiest method to installing the vent is to align and push the part towards the front of the hood in place first. Thereafter push the whole vent towards the front of the car then downwards to clip in.

I decided to DIY install PPF on the GTS hood. Probably the most difficult DIY I’ve tackled so far. Was about to quit 1.5 hours in but kept on trucking and got it done!

Good job. Just wondering what type of ppf and how much? When i was shopping around for some xpel ultimate, it was over $300+ for 72x60" sheet.

I purchased a piece of 72”x60” Suntek Ultra from ebay. It was barely enough. Could have used another 6”-12” wide piece to help with pulling and stretching. Materials/supplies in total was around $200. For a GTS hood I used a steamer to stretch the film from the power dome to hood vent opening. Without a steamer I don’t know how an installer would tackle this part. A challenge for me was ambient temp in my garage was maybe 50 degrees. The film was rather stiff. Would have preferred doing this in a 75 degree garage.

You do know the F80/F82/F83 all shares the same exact hood right and the GTS and CS hoods are the same? That said any replica GTS/CS hood are interchangeable on the F8x platform.

Looks good. Question: Suvneer it didn't come with vents? Why did you buy the OEM vents?

Theirs did come with a vent but the oem vent one is much better quality and better fit. You just need to test fit the oem vent prior to painting the hood because it might require some sanding of the vent opening. The aluminum is hood in certain areas is paper thin so it’s easy to sand away any unneeded material.
