We usually place the cable in the same location on all our installs, it is tucked underneath the center console - passenger side.

Feel underneath and you should feel the USB cable which can be pulled out to connect to a laptop.

Very soon, will be driving our M4 to the Airstrip event in AZ this weekend to test some features while on the road and giving the green light if all is well.

Tom I just removed my ER down pipes as combined with the akra was too loud for me when the exhaust valves opened

Are you saying I could use this and select valves closed all the time and it would remove the unwanted sound without sacrificing performance? The Valve merely bypass the silencer which doesn't restrict air flow like cats do

It clears the entire DME at the moment, the goal is to wipe the cat-related code in final release.

Correct. You have full control over the exhaust flaps in a always closed, always open or auto (OEM) mode.

For what its worth I was able to try out toms car with the Awron and it was super slick. The valve option was very easy to use and it was instant. You want the valves closed or open click the box and boom done no hesitation

Goal would be much better, I think it goes without saying

Awesome. now all you need to do is finalize it, and get it out to the public!

I would love a simple (cheaper?) 3-way switch solution without installing a full Awron setup. I rather like the air vent they way it is now.

Not to mention its a huge red flag to the dealer that your car is modded

Even if it's not, they will use that gauge against you of you have issues

Not likely, since the gauge only reads CAN (short of the additional delete-r/Valve Control features). No commands or manipulation is involved and the gauges goes into service mode the instant diagnostic equipment is plugged into the OBD2 port.

Awron also manufactures the displays for Alpina.

I get that, and I understand what the product is and think it's great

However, at our dealers in houston, they fear what they do not understand. It does not matter what you tell them, if they see stuff like this they will consider it modded and make warranty work a hassle.

Ask me how I know. I had an old p3 (iirc) on my 1m for monitoring temps on track and was aggressively confronted by the dealer and hassled when my car had issues.

It's not a personal attack on your product, just that many dealers see stuff like this and will give you a hard time. I can understand some wanting a more stealth location is all

Wow, your dealers are assholes. I had the Awron gauge on mine when I went in for my break in service, and they complimented me on it, and said that it looks great, and seems to be a useful item.

As for voiding warranty, as I'm sure your aware, the onus is on the dealership/car manufacturer to prove that an aftermarket part caused the failure (as per the Magnuson-Moss Act); in reality, car manufacturers have much more legal manpower/firepower to call on, but really, a gauge would be a hard case to sell that it caused the damage leading to the warranty claim.
