Active Sound Disabled - Video >>>

So it was getting late in the day but I still went ahead and shot the video. Please excuse how dark the video is but it's primarily because the sun had already set and it was a lot darker outside. The Camera is inside the car with no external mic.

I tried to capture the in cabin noise after disabling the ASD. Sorry I didn't take any video with it on. I figured you guys here it everyday I captured my thoughts on the thread here........

The audio is not as clear as I had hoped for it to be but should give you an idea. Not sure if it's because the GoPro was in it's case and if that hinders the mic in any way. The main thing I tried to capture was how the exhaust and any other mechanical/engine related sound now comes from the outside. rather than filling up the cabin like it does with the Active Sound.

Extremely pleased I disabled it

Videos seriously don't do it justice. Disabled mine a couple of months ago and I have progressively enjoyed it more and more. I didn't notice how intrusive it was until it had been turned off.

Need to use a quality external mic to really capture it as the stock mic on the GoPro is garbage but turning ASD off was the best choice I've made so far. I was skeptical at first but it makes a huge difference.

Sorry for the noob question. Disabling this doesn't enhance the exhaust sound at all correct? only the sound inside the cabin?

Yeah that was taped to the diffuser for the exhaust video I had unplugged it. Should have just brought it in.

Correct. It eliminates the synthesized sounds that comes from the speakers via Active Sound.

Absolutely. Especially with flaps open and it's a night and day difference. I didnt mind ASD and thought it sounded pretty good but once I got my JB4, I tried it and was blown away. The only downside is that since ASD put out a low frequency sound along with the 'exhaust' note... I noticed that once ASD is off there is significantly more road noise. Think of it like the way noise cancelling headphones work.

Well, I coded it and can clearly hear a difference in the garage. Didn't take it out as its raining and I washed it earlier. Looking forward to driving it tomorrow.

Hmm. . . Honestly you might just be noticing the road noise from the lower temperatures a bit as well. Regardless of whether your PSS are on or you have winters the colder it gets the harder the rubber is the more debris is on the road there is, and the more road noise there is.

Having driven with ASD off for a couple of days, I think I prefer it.

Now I hear the natural sounds of the exhaust and, although it's quieter, it's a much more pleasing sound.

My HK Audio also sounds better without the ASD being piped through it.

So, guys where did you code your cars? Did you go to the dealer or there are some special guys which do that?
