To each their own, but I've seen far worse than this.

Honestly, I don't see a big deal with the tire stickers although I don't think it looks good at all. It's parking sideways in the two disabled spots that stands out to me. Yikes

I don’t care about the tire stickers and the license plate since they aren’t aesthetic mods that make the car significantly worse or unsafe. Even if they did to each their own.
Parking like that is asking for someone to f with your car. And to get towed. So he’s asking for dings and damage, not preventing it. And having disabled people in my family I know how stressful it can be for parents to try to find spots to side unload handicap vans for kids in wheelchairs. The spaces are there for a reason. I would have confronted this dude and explained in a nice way why what he’s doing isn’t funny or edgy or whatever he’s going for. |

It is not that they can be had for 35k. I got mine for less than that. I am okay with a used car with higher miles and I do okay with doing the maintenance that ends up costing a lot less to own such a car. It is more fun to do the work yourself anyway. Unless, I just cannot!
So, what has happened - surely, people have not changed. We have angels and demons or both peppered with dicks. I blame the banks and lenders! When I bought my E3 M3 in 1993. I had a solid job, good credit, good amount of debt - still, it was not easy to just buy a used 1990 M3. There were not many good used M cars for sale during those times, because there were no lease returns and people bought to keep them until the wheels fell off. I put 270k on mine before moving on! Since I have owned my M4, just a couple of months - I see kids in their 20s driving them. I wonder, if it is their parents' car, but then I see the mods and wonder again, how can this kid afford a car like this - then I realize with 80 plus month loans available to crickets, humans and assess, these kids can and do drive M4s and other M cars. Brain maturity extends well beyond teen years , young people are recognized as adults at age 18. But emerging science about brain development suggests that most people don't reach full maturity until the age 25. The prefrontal cortex performs reasoning, planning, judgment, and impulse control, necessities for being an adult. Without the fully development prefrontal cortex, a teen might make poor decisions and lack the inability to discern whether a situation is safe. Teens tend to experiment with risky behavior and don’t fully recognize the consequences of their choices. Rental companies don't even rent cars to 25 and younger people. Yes, these cars are mass produced now more than the 80s and historically loose their value quickly. Now, the exclusive club that comprised most of the M car community in the 80s and early 90s are no longer the norm now. That exclusive club had dicks among them, albeit less than now! We have people from all walks of life driving and owning M cars - yes, that is good, but with the good and more diverse ownership comes more trash. It is what it is! +1 to this, I'm also in my very early twenties, and I am happy to say that I've put in the work to position myself where I can afford to outright purchase my M4 without any outside help from my parents. In a way, I understand the stigma and that we might be the minority or lucky few, but I always get a bad taste in my mouth when people assume it's daddy's money.

I bought my first M3 when I was in my late 20s! I ask of you - the new generation - to change one thing - only one! Daily your M cars, with no regard to rain, traffic, miles, depreciation, and other ridiculous excuses to buy an M car and not drive it! I never understood the concept of a garage queen, when there are thousands of M cars [like ours] produced - unless it is a limited edition - that sat in the garage because of traffic, rain, depreciation! |

This isn’t nearly as hideous looking than the stock SPY G80 I saw yesterday. God damn that car takes someone really special to drive around in…

It's bad but definitely seen worse than that. Running underglow, alibaba wings, etc.
It's the natural cycle of a quite attainable sports car, especially an M3. Going to see them at the track more often now and I've seen one or two running angle kits for drifting (both good), or at stancenation instagram camber burble tune shows (bad). Once people trash a lot of cars, nice examples are gonna go up in prices and hit the "unironically cool" part of the graph.

Just the cycle of life with cars like these. Prices go down and buyers who couldn't enter the market now can. With that just comes a different style and taste, some good and some bad. Back to the topic at hand, what do the tire stickers say, Kiss me ????" I can't make out the rest. |

Nicky, I just checked! There are several M4s with 80 to 101k on the clock that are going for about 35 to 38k! Many say don't keep an M car passed 100k, but I say be ready for about 4 to 5k in maintenance and keep driving her. I have the following left to do, as preventive measures. So, a car with all the upcoming stuff that must be done, priced at 35k really is a car at 40 and change. I have done the transmission, rear diff, all oils and fluids, brakes/rotor myself. - upper cooler upgrade - pullies and belt - coils - valve cover and gasket - oil fill gasket - hub capture They really do dump in value quickly! But, then you can pick one up for cheap [wholesale in my case at 81k], set a baseline and drive it for another 100k plus! I knew when I bought mine it needed another 5k put into her! Brakes alone, just parts is over 2500.00 |

That's a pretty nice car, but I totally understand what OP means. Buying an M3 for 35k doesn't make you riffraff, it's acting like riffraff that makes you riffraff. Don't park like that.
