Has no one used the turner motorsport floating rotors?
I swear I've searched via forum search and google, but can't find anything.
My track f80 needs new brake discs / rotors, I was considering going stock again (Pagid yellow pads) but then thought a full floating setup might be worth the extra investment. The turner ones are available, and have lifetime replacement. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1...otors-set-f8x/ But I can't see anyone who's fitted them, anywhere. Am I missing something? (I'm pretty new to the USA) Last edited by TyreReviews; 12-09-2023 at 12:17 AM.. |

Yeah, I haven't read anyone reporting experience with the Turner discs. For the track crowd here, Girodiscs seem to be the most tried-and-trusted option. This past season, I took a chance on the competing 2-pc setup from 034Motorsports (lifetime replacement from FCPEuro), and have to say that so far, happy with their performance and longevity. Fronts are still looking good after I think around 12 events and use as my daily driver. They're a J-hook design, and they are audibly buzzy a bit, but you need to really be trying to hear it with the windows up, so not a big issue for me. |

Giro discs are definitely the track-rested stock sized 2-piece rotors. I wonder what type of iron castings Turner uses for their rotors and the number of vanes each rotor has. Pricing seems similar so I’d go with the known girodisc over the unknown turner option (not saying they’re bad but just unproven).

Thanks guys - yes I am Tyre Reviews, glad you find it useful!
The appeal of the Tuner rotor is the lifetime replacement. I guess someone has to try them! |

Do they have any crazy clauses in their replacement warranty? Check to make sure their lifetime rotor replacement warranty applies even if its track use only the rotors and still replaced under warranty for free of charge. That would make the Turner 2-piece rotors worth the price of admission!

According to the site track use is ok!
I received them, not counted the veins yet but I thought it was interesting the weights aren't listed so I weighed them. 11.8kgs for the fronts and 10.9kgs for the rears. Not sure how that compares to the competition / OE. I can get some photos before install if anyone is interested. |

I can see how that is confusing. I counted 48 vanes on the outside of the disk, and 24 on the inside. So they must split somewhere inside. I haven't inspected them too much yet.

Ok, so they're sold as fully floating front and rear.
The fronts are certainly fully floating and look really well put together. The rears have the bells bolted directly to the disc. Not sure how that could be classified as fully floating. Any suggestions? https://photos.app.goo.gl/GpNiaZYbYbLpTwvVA |

Sounds like a great option given the Turner lifetime replacement warranty. |
