So I have a new goal in life. It isn't much, but I really need to keep this man's kids away from mine. The gene mix would be lethal.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/busin...=.314274db29f9 Can you imagine the holidays with our kids and the grandbabies of the cricket man and the fireplace down taker? Unfortunately, I can.

I've been looking at that, but so big and I'm not quite sure I want to spend that much on a ... bmw. This next cycle will be at a weird time if all goes well - we're planning on hangin up the skates which if we go with the long date will be be about 2021 and I'd like to do an ED and then just stay in Europe for the max time (autobahn, tracks, mountains) - if we do that it'll depend on what kind of insurance we can get and which brand program is the most friendly to long stays ... anyway that could mean skipping for a year which would then put me back in M4 territory so ... 1st world problems
In other news, here's a fun math trick with saving money i've discovered: * Let's say you save 50% of your income - that means for every year you do that, you're actually funding a year of no-work fun of the same lifestyle you're living now. Not bad ... so in 10 years, you could fund a decade of no work. * BUT - Let's say you're badass and you go 75%: really manage your shit, cut out the dinners out, etc ... tough, but IMO still easily doable for anyone with a six-figure income. That means you're actually saving 3 years of party for every year of working - you've tripled your savings! That means, if you do that for 10 years, you could fund 30 years of no work! And that's assuming that investment interest simply covers inflation (like i-bonds)- if you do better than that, then gravy on the lifestyle. * Now for the best: what if you up from 75% to 80%? Just 5% more? HOLY SHIT - QUADRUPLE! for just 5% more!! 4 years of work-free living for every year of work, or 40 years of beachtime for 10 years of work. Anyway, your money or your life, is my point. |

Can you extend your current lease until the next gen or would that be too long in regards to warranty running out etc? |

Maybe I can sneak away with one of Arcades's cars...it'd probably take him a year to notice and by then I can just park it at the tuners and he'll think he just forgot to pick it up. |

BMW doesn't have any good leases at the moment I think... that won't change for a while I think.

Happy new year folks. Can't believe 2018 is over already. I stopped drinking a while back, so last night wasn't really much fun. I went a little crazy and had dessert. |

When you quit drinking for awhile ... yeah, no shit:
* I found out I don't even like fishing! * Plus, it turns out that a lot of tropical vacation spots are actually pretty gross * And, speaking of $kidscollege and savings, when you cut back on drinking, that's like 50% of your income back right there! So many mysteries ... who knew? Anyway, I think now is a good time to point out other shit Canadians fucked with ... See, it turns out the reason us 'mericans all sing an old tymey version of Auld Lang Syne on New Year's Eve is because in 1928 Guy Lombardo started broadcasting a NYE radio show from the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan, and it was pretty popular, and he played his version of Auld Lang Syne the same old tyme way every year. He kept it up for almost 50 years. Then in the 1970s Dick Clark started playing Guy Lombardo's version of Auld Lang Syne on his Rockin' New Year's Eve show and kept it up until Ryan Seacrest took over, who still plays the Guy Lombardo version every year. So what does all this have to do with a Canadian Conspiracy? It turns out that Guy Lombardo's orchestra was ... THE ROYAL CANADIANS!

I feel like I am going to get a lot of crap for this but I dislike having to pay for maintenance. Having to pay 1,700 today for the Macan S, 2nd year maintenance actually hurt my head. They charged me 1,300 for LABOR?!
Sigh.

Yup, these are all overpriced luxuries, but you can find a bit better value here and there. It is amazing how much more expensive it is to move to even a base 911 over a regular M3/4 with everything added in.

BMW comes with 3-4 year maintenance, we don't pay during signing. I know Benz and Audi can, I must have missed it during the Porsche signing but having warranty then paying for maintenance is something I'm still iffy about.
