BMW Platinum warranty for GTS - pricing?

Has anyone purchased the BMW Platinum warranty upgrade?

If yes, can you please share your pricing information?

I see that BMW offers 72/84 month coverage with 75k or 100k mileage cap.

Thank you!

Thank you. That's pretty close to what I was offered (~ $6600).

I'm wondering if it is cheaper to get the coverage from an out-of-state (non-CA) dealership.

I had read somewhere that BMW was no longer allowing dealerships to offer warranty extensions to non-local (e.g., out-of-state customers). Not sure if that is really the case.

Thanks again!

Be careful. I believe that those 84 months include the original 4 year warranty so what appears to be an 84 month warranty is in fact 3 year warranty.
Still worth it in my opinion between the water injection issues and cracked knuckles.

7 years, 50,000 miles, for $4300. And that was 7 years from the purchase date of the warranty.

The terms and pricing suggest that you are talking about a 3rd party (mechanical break-down) policy. Are you sure it was a policy issued by BMW?

Oops, you're right. The warranty was issued by my BMW dealership, but I think it's through them specifically, not BMW. Apologies, don't drink and Bimmerpost.

No apology needed - just wanted to confirm the source of your policy. Thanks!

I bought the official BMW Service Contract when my GTS was still under the original 4 yr/50000 mile warranty. It was $6300 and it says 7 years, 75K miles. But as noted, it is 3 more years from original in service date. The Dealer Finance Manager also offered a non-BMW warranty (I think it was underwritten by Allstate). It could go as much as 10 total years from original in service date. Note the BMW Platinum Service Contract (Extended Warranty) does not cover any Interior issues. Unlike the original 4 year warranty. Not sure about the 3rd party warranty.

I extended mine an additional 3 years with BMW (not aftermarket). I'm in Texas but did it through a CA dealer to whom I was referred by folks on this forum. It was around $5400 USD IIRC for the extension. PM me if you want details
