Hankook RS-4 on OEM 513m

Hey guys,
Just picked up my F80 m3 last year and haven't gotten around to taking it to the track. I just purchased an extra set of 513m wheels to throw on the car and looked at tire choices and there isn't much out there. The only option that fit within the stock trie sizes are Yokohama AO 52. I ran these on my porsche last year and they were great, but kinda pricey. I also used to run the RS4 and loved them and they were relatively cheap. Tire rack offers them in 245/40/18 and 265/40/18. These seem to be within range of the oe tires since I heard they run wide. Any issues with the dsc with running these? I came from Porsche's and had a 911c4 and if the tires were outside of a 2% aspect ratio the vicious coupler would overheat and cause issues. I know I am not running awd, but wondering if anything outside of the oem tire range will throw anything off.

I'd stick with as much tire as possible for your given wheelset if you are planning on doing track time.

Sounds really narrow for f80, maybe go wider with a different brand R compound tires

I would check the specs but pretty sure you are fine , I think they are wider than stock with those sizes.

Most people would say (including myself from my experience thus far) that the F8x is undertired from the factory, particularly for track duty. Your stated sizes are even narrower than stock. I think you'd be disappointed on the track with these.

I can't speak to effect on DSC with that specific setup, but as a general piece of advice you may wish to consider turning off all nannies in short order on the track (once comfortable with the very basics). There are different schools of thought on this (do a search), but I chose to do this early because I really wanted to learn the chassis and the way the car behaves without any other variables in the mix. Obviously, there is some added risk in this, but to be honest, if you're halfway smart and conscious of what you're doing, while maintaining a healthy respect for the car and your own experience level, you'll be OK. I'll also say I think it helps to do an honest assessment of your ego and underlying tendencies -- I, for example, tend to generally be risk-averse and not a big chance-taker. So for me, I was fairly confident that without nannies, I'll subconsciously always err on the side of pulling back if I'm not exactly sure where the limit is. And thus far (knock wood), I've had no major issues. If you have the opposite kind of personality, however, then maybe keep the nannies on a bit longer.

Edit: Read your post again, sounds like you may already have track experience (missed the Porsche part), so apologies if my post came off too noob-ish!

Thanks for the advice everyone. To poster above, no need to apologize. Thank you for the feedback. I am new to tracking the m3 and will need to learn its unique characteristics.

Hankook lists a bunch of sizes in 18's on their website but only 2 are listed on tirerack. If you can find a 265/35/18 and a 285/35/18, its a little shorter than stock but would give you more grip.

I'd choose these and pair them up, rear is dead on and front is .25 taller
