Traction Issues in wet, UK: Wheel/Tyre Recommendation for Half Carbon M4
Hi Guys, lately I have been having some traction issues especially after carbon boot change and I decided to change my tires and wheels ( I am also bored with 4.20d like wheels, 437M)
Right now I have 255/35 and 275/35. In dry it is ok but in wet traction is a bit scary. Car is stock apart from mpe and eibach springs. Someone from lkperformance recommended me 20" Riviera RV136 michelin ps4s 285/30/R20, and 265/30/R20 https://www.lkperformance.co.uk/whee...-matt-gunmetal What do you think about this combination? Or is there anything else do you recommend? (I use the car as a daily car in UK) View post on imgur.com View post on imgur.com Thanks |

Go look in the coding section and read about the updated MDM/diff/DSC software since yours is a 14 plate. Also use your right foot smoothly because no matter what you do to it, it is a front-engined RWD torque monster and it will step out on ya if you drive it like a lunatic with the nannies off.

I assume it's getting colder, and performance summer tires don't do that good in the wet and cold. Just a thought.

You’re traction issues are not due to the small weight loss by switching to a CF hood (stock Al) and truck lid (stock is composite already). It’s all due to your right foot. You cannot drive this car in the wet the same way you drive it in the dry. As others have mentioned, when the temperature drops below 45 F summer performance tires start to lose significant grip and the colder it gets the worse the grip gets. Adjust your driving style to the road and weather conditions.
