Auto-on park assist

My wife's '14 X5 50i has parking assist that automatically turns on when it senses we're pulling into a parking spot or our garage. But my '16 M3 which has park assist doesn't do that even though mine has the extra cameras. Is this something that's just not available on ours or can it be coded?

You need to manually turn it on with a button. It looks like P with a triangle. Last button. It doesn't auto proc like other cars My coworkers BMW X1 turns on at low speeds as well.

It can't be coded on F3x.
This feature is only in cars equipped with BDC

I noticed this too on my buddies X5. So I started messing with BimmerCode and turned off the minimum/maximum speed required for it to automatically turn on and off. I set all the settings to FF. So now it's on at all times (assuming it gets activated by putting the car into reverse, which is usually the case since I back out of my garage or a parking space when I begin driving). The green light on the center console button is always on. You can manually turn it off by pressing the button still, or manually turning it back on with the button like normal. But once it's on, it stays on, until you manually turn it off or shut off the car. And It rarely picks up false readings if I'm driving close to the car in front of me in stop and go traffic, unless I actually get close enough while stopping behind a car like you would in a parking space. I don't even realize it's on during normal driving until pulling into a parking spot even at the lowest of speeds where it starts to sense the curb. Works very well.

Hi F80_BK.
Would you please be able to list the parameters you changed to achieve this. Cheers.

Rear Electronics Module REM_01 > 3203 PdcParkMasterVar > D_SCHWELLE_1 > werte = FF
Rear Electronics Module REM_01 > 3203 PdcParkMasterVar > D_SCHWELLE_2 > werte = FF
Rear Electronics Module REM_01 > 3203 PdcParkMasterVar > V_SCHWELLE_1 > werte = FF
Rear Electronics Module REM_01 > 3203 PdcParkMasterVar > V_SCHWELLE_2 > werte = FF

Default Values:

Rear Electronics Module REM_01 > 3203 PdcParkMasterVar > D_SCHWELLE_1 > werte = 32
Rear Electronics Module REM_01 > 3203 PdcParkMasterVar > D_SCHWELLE_2 > werte = 0A
Rear Electronics Module REM_01 > 3203 PdcParkMasterVar > V_SCHWELLE_1 > werte = 24
Rear Electronics Module REM_01 > 3203 PdcParkMasterVar > V_SCHWELLE_2 > werte = 0F
