Spoke to him. Yes - $500 over invoice but $1K NONREFUNDABLE security deposit with no guarantee on when I will see the car. Basically you give him $1K and he will get you a car at some point based on his allocation. If you don't like to wait - you loose $1K.

Pricing is very good - and for people who are dead set on getting M3/M4 and are willing to wait for however long it takes - it is a very good deal. Unfortunately I don't think I can do that.

He's just being honest with you. Keep in mind 8 of us are already on his order bank, therefore he can't guarantee a spot for you in July. After saying this, I don't think any dealer will have that many allocations during the first month of the 16's.

The way I see it is, most dealerships 16's allocations for the first month has already been filled, so regardless everyone has to wait.

Yeah timing for me is critical. No fun being in Europe in the winter. Also the deal is not as good when you add shipping to your location. I was quoted $800 for shipping so that's $1300 over invoice. Only makes sense if it is PCD.

Nonrefundable deposit would be ok with me if he 100% has an allocation for me. But there is no way in hell I am going to secure $1,000(!) for him w/o knowing when I can expect to get my car +/- a month at most.

I've read way too many stories over the years of people getting strung along for months like that.

I gave him $1000 deposit but he had an allocation and went into production the next day. I think if you told him that I'll give you a deposit, but if you don't get me an allocation within x months I want it back he would do that. The guy seems pretty reasonable, he just doesn't want to have 8 cars "sold" and have 6 back out I presume.

I wasn't told the deposit was non-refundable but I'm not worried about it. Unless someone orders a terrible color combo I'm guessing they won't care about receiving extra M3s. They'll be able to sell them quick. If you put in deposit I am guessing you could get it back.

I spoke with Clint yesterday and he seems like a standup guy. I got the same pricing as quoted in this thread and will hopefully be placing an order around Christmas time for PCD in early Spring 2016.

It is all a matter of personal opinion of course - but to me there is no issue with him not knowing when I can get the car - it is outside of his control. And no issue with me waiting for car - I don't have to be one of first to get it. My issue is that I am committing to buying a car at an unknown point in time and have no recourse (other than losing deposit) if car delivery date is not acceptable to me. To make an-obviously-unrealistic example - what if he comes back and says that I can't get car until next May? I have inquired whether deposit would be refundable if delivery date - once know - is unacceptable and was told "no."

It would have been better if I could put down refundable $1K deposit to get in line and it would only become non-refundable once I know and accept build date.

Has anyone bought M3 from this dealership before (2015 model)? What was experience like? I did quick search and only reference I could find was relative to current promotion Clint is running.

I completely understand your point of view. Lindsayeod and two others on
the forums have a 15 on build right now, I am sure they can chime in on his service.

He told me that it's non-refundable because if I bailed out, BMW sees this as a potential fake order.

The price is great, especially if doing PCD, but there are a lot of unknowns.

Guys, from my understanding, it is illegal to keep a deposit if you do not want the car anymore. I have always put a deposit down with Clint. I am on my 4th car with him and he has always told me it is refundable. When I saw this come up, I asked him. All of the deposits are refundable, especially if you do not like the build date. The deposit is just a tool for dealers to ensure a person is serious about purchasing through them. The more orders he gets, the more allocations BMW NA has promised him. That is why he is building such a massive order. He told me that he is contemplating capping the orders to 10, so that way everyone gets an early allocation, but that may preclude others from getting this great price. What does the consensus want? I have a 15 that is being built right now so I should not get a vote. However, if I were voting, I would definitely want more orders being placed with refundable deposits to hopefully help me get an earlier allocation. If others want to chime in on this, I can pass the info to him.

I spoke with Clint earlier and he said the $1,000 deposit is NON-refundable. The reason is as was stated above. He doesn't want people to place a bunch of orders and then cancel. BMW will then think the orders were fake and just a way for the dealership to get more allocations.

I've emailed and called David Aviles a few times. Got once response a few weeks ago. I purchased my '11 through him.

Clint on the other hand picks up the phone right away. Tough call. The dealership could end up getting 3 allocations/month. #10 would have to wait an additional 3+ months. Is that worth paying $500 over invoice, waiting, AND not knowing when you'll actually get the car?

if everyone gets an allocation early if the list is capped i would vote to cap it, and after the first set of people get their orders in with allocation maybe he will have an idea of how many allocations he gets next month and he could start building another preorder list.

Quick question: How soon would I need to get my allocation to make an early october Euro Delivery happen? Better said, what is the latest allocation that could still get me a car in early october?

As soon as you can. If you have the allocation you can pick the date

Probably September, depending on when in October it could even be later. ED gets the highest priority of 0 and they make sure it's done. For ED I wouldn't worry too much since BMW really sells that program and it's easy to bump a US destined car by a week or two to get an ED delivered in time.

One thing to remember is allocations are hard to come by now because there haven't been many 2015s recently and no 2016s, but once 2016 allocations start, busy dealers will be able to trade allocations with dealers that have extra. This is not a first model year car. People who want them will be able to get them.

I agree ED gets higher priority, but I think allocations are going to be pretty tight for 2016. Getting your early is important. JMO

I placed my order with Clint today for a '16 M3. He is busy! But answers the phone quickly and absurdly nice.

The way I see it, if I just can't wait for 2-3 months and find something faster elsewhere, I'm sure someone else will take my #9 spot at $500 over invoice and cover my $1,000 deposit.

Just talked with Clint. As of noon today, he has 12 orders in at this price. He expects allocations for June to be given this week. He will notify everyone once those allocations drop.
