Brake line stoppers?

Hi folks, I'm getting ready to send my calipers off for a color change and the brake lines will leak for two weeks unless I prevent them from doing so.

Can anyone recommend the correct threaded cap size or stopper type? None of the line stopper kits I've seen include 4 of the same size but I'm thinking there's an easier or better solution.

Thanks for any advice you can share.

Thanks. Does it still drip around the punch or is it mostly stopped? Anyone try tapered silicone stoppers? Set on amazon for $10 that look properly small.

For the most part it didn’t drip at all. The glove acts like a “seal” between the brake line/punch so as long as you have the correct size punch you should be fine. Haven’t tried any other way so can’t give you any input on the silicone stoppers.

For anyone trying to do this, here's a $10 option that works: https://www.amazon.com/High-Temp-Sil.../dp/B00XYD2760

The tiny pink stoppers in the kit flare out to about 4mm and are a perfect fit for the ID of the brake line end fitting. I cut the fingers off a nitrile glove and used a zip tie on each line to hold it all in place and prevent the stopper from moving.

You can also press down on the brake pedal and use a device (even a 2x4 works) to keep the pedal pressed. That'll prevent fluid from leaking. I did this when changing calipers and didn't lose a single drop aside from what was in the calipers I took off.
