Coding F80: What worked and what didn't for me

If anyone has any comments on what I need to do to get the things I couldn't get working that would be great!

I don't have the LED headlamps or the Lighting package. Bought enhanced bluetooth. In both cases I should have read the forums before placing my order!!!

Thanks, Bert

These worked for me

REM:
Enable rear view camera at all speeds (keeps cameras on longer, but I think you need to enable PDC at all speeds to get them back on)
D_SCHWELLE_2 Werte=FF
V_SCHWELLE_2 Werte=FF

ACSM:
Disable Welcome 3 Gongs:
3000 → Initialwarnung_GWF_IW = nicht_aktiv

Set cell phone ringer as primary -- I have changed this back to default -- it seems it takes a long time to start ringing
3003→INBAND_RINGING set to: aktiv – werte=01

Disable Active Sound Design -- I have changed this back to default -- there is no difference in cabin sound between Eco, Sport & Sport+ with windows closed
3000 → ASD_SOUND_OFF set to: aktiv

Enable Video Files from USB
3000→ENT_CODEC_XVID set to: aktiv
3000→ENT_CODEC_XVCD set to: aktiv

From: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...3&postcount=21

Both TMS modules, FDL Code Standlicht Modus 1 & Standlicht Modus 2, change the Werte Value 64 to 00 as follows:

Disable Audible Chirp/Beep When Locking Car
3000 → ACOUSTICAL_LOCK_CONFIRM set to: nicht_aktiv

Show Digital Speed in MPH in Cluster

Has anyone gotten the high beam assistant Auto On to work?

HighHBeam Assistant – Auto On:
3060 FLA_AKTIVIERUNG set to: werte=02
3073 C_HBA_ENA set to: F030_enable=01

High Beam Assistant – Auto On
3000 HIGH_BEAM_ASSISTANT set to: aktiv – werte=01

This didn't seem to work.

Hi Bert - can you comment on how much difference when you turned off Active Sound?

Noticeably quieter cabin?

Better or feel like something missing?

Thanks

The sound difference inside between economy and sport/sport+ is hard to notice with the windows up. I might turn ASD back on.

I mostly miss the aggressive throttle blips on the downshifts with ASD off.

There were lots of ASD parameters to code: wonder what happens if you tell it you have a different engine.

For now, ASD is back on and I like it much better.

Nope - sport plus closes the valves at low rpms and low throttle openings to prevent drone.

It's very easy to just unplug them when they are open, though.

Thanks.

Lots of talk on this forum about ASD this and ASD that - sounds like you prefer to have it. I plan to run for the first few months with it - then turn off to see if I miss it.

I have asked this forum if anyone has complaints from hands free calling that other party hears engine roar during phone calls (or other background noise) - but have not found an avid phone user to reply, I guess most people are too excited driving their new car to be talking on the phone!

I've talked on the phone for long periods when i was driving from ATL to NOLA. No complaints.

I recently read a post how the speed governor can be coded out but within 10 hours of DME operation. Can anyone confirm if this is correct and if so how to? It sounds a little ridiculous to me.

I was playing with this last night while on a phone call. I suspected that the ASD would turn off when on a phone call so I put it in sport plus and romped on it and noticed much less cabin noise than normal. I cannot definitively say that it turns off, but the caller on the other end did say it sounded quiet and they had no complaints.

Interesting. I would have thought BMW would use noise cancellation for the far end with ASD since it would be pretty straight forward knowing exactly what sound is being added through the speakers.

I will be testing this out as well.....once my car arrives...

I'm not sure of that fine level of control, but it comes on whenever the door handle lights come on. I have the door handle lights come on when I go in reverse (illuminates curbs for the top view camera) and the M lights come on then.
