I guess it all depends on what you are looking for in a car. I wouldn’t/don’t fault anybody for getting what they or least think they will enjoy more.

I would be tempted to get an E92 if the manual didn't suck and the engine wasn't a time-bomb.

Not really. The e9x has so much more soul than the M4 its not even funny. Kinda like hooking up with a hot chick who is bad in bed vs an ok looking chick who knows how to work it.

I went back to an e9x for a year and I enjoyed it. I dont keep cars long so I recently sold it and im looking to move up to a Pcar now. Im pretty much done with BMW overall.

The new lineup of BMW M just don't appeal to me anymore besides the M2C. And it has a huge glaring problem too - S55 sound.

Atta boy. What P car you thinking?

My possible move to an e9x is because of cost.
Im using my f80 as a DD. My commute might get a bit longer. I was going to sell the f80 get a 30-40k dd and an E92 stick for weekend

How in the hell are you going to fit your Andre the Giant like stature into a P car?

Which one are you looking at?

You can always teach the hot some tricks whereas the ok looking chick will never be as hot.

Surprisingly a 997.2 TT is quite a nice fit for me. That's what I'm searching for right now. In 6MT of course.

CSanto Thats kind of what I did too. Went to a 4runner daily w/ the E92 M3. But I quickly realized I wanted my weekend car to be a little more of a pure sports car. Thus the Porsche search to pair w/ the 4runner.

Now I just need to break my Bimmerpost addiction

I'm sorry you cannot teach an M4 to sound good or to have good steering feel. So I guess the analogy doesn't carry over there

I had a 2015 M4 with MT that was a lease that I turned in last Feb and I now have a 911 TTS on order for Oct delivery. I liked my M4 but it just didn't have enough of the wow factor for me. I didn't want to spend all the money on a tune and
a cutback exhaust since I was leasing.

Sorry just picking on you, but it sounds funny that you didn’t want to spend money on an exhaust or tune, but spent 100k more on a different car.

I'd have a hard time spending money on more significant mods if I was leasing as well.

Significant being anything more than kidney grills

I know, I agree as it is more of pain in the ass to get things switched back for lease end than the money aspect. I was just kidding, I like our “car logic” sometimes though.

I just picked up a active autowerkes stg 3 charged e92 w/ 15k miles to replace my f80 in February at lease end.

The f8x platform definitely has a new school look as well as serious l/e torque, I can't get over how much I dislike the sound of the I6TT.

At times it's obnoxiously loud

I didn’t want to spend the money because I wasn’t keeping the car.
My M4 was a lease, why would I spend thousands of $$ on a car I
Wasn’t keeping. It may not make sense to you but I’m not one to
throw away my money.

Agree- I made the mistake of going from the E92 M3 to my F80...I was seduced by the looks...and with my visual mods, I love the way it looks....Buuuuuut...I miss driving my E92 simply because of the character it had.

I'm also going to sell my F80 off this fall and jump to a Porsche...a Cayman GT4 or a Boxster Spyder.
