I got to take the mint monster on her first road trip up to Mammoth. Got blasted in a windstorm on the way back. Bunch of tiny chips...un fun. Metal escaped nearly unscathed. Headlights took the brunt.

You read my mind. It’s almost like a “just in case” approach. I’ll be the first to SMH at myself if a GT3 allocation comes up sooner than expected and I have to liquidate some of these mods. The good thing is the LWB seats retain their value at/nearly at 100%, so I will almost certainly get all of my money back if I ever chose to sell them. Mine are 992 LWB’s and I’ve seen 991 or 918 LWB’s sell for about the same price or very close to it.

Mint is such a cool color. I remember when I first saw that color in person at BMW of Riverside. I could see hot mod potential written all over that color. Sorry to hear about the windstorm. They are brutal.

Tore the rear apart in about 20 minutes in order to get the base ready for the AeroKit. The wing has been painted by one of Porsche’s certified repair/paint centers (….Caliber Collision, the shop that also painted my AeroKit front lip) and is ready for pick up. I won’t be back in California until Wednesday morning though, so I won’t be able to finish this project until Sunday.

I sold my OEM non-AeroKit car cover on RennList and simultaneously purchased a brand new OEM AeroKit car cover on RennList.

The car is looking fantastic - loving the spec!

debating on getting one now. but will probably wait to see what the 2025 x3 refresh brings.
Personally a big fan of the G01/2 platform, and for me the next best thing outside of a 3er Touring (boy would I love an M340i Touring or better yet, an Alpina). Sounds fantastic, and I saw 32 MPG on the way to Charleston.

I literally had no complaints about my old G01 M40i LCI apart from the sound system as you said, but also the seats. Feels OK in the beginning, but once you sit in a G05, you get spoiled.

No thank you.
Strange, I had a B58 and S55 (in an M2C and M4 GTS) and I certainly didn't think it had mega lag. I think the B58 is truly one of the best DD engines out there.

Thanks brotha! This has turned into one hell of a project. If you had asked me in April of 2022 if I planned to mod, the answer would’ve been a resounding “No”. I have since dove in head first with an anvil in my hands.

Agreed! I didn’t think the S55 was laggy at all. It was a very responsive motor.

Heard the Z06 in person by chance today on my jog. Sounds good on the outside, stock too from what I can tell.

Edit: Oh and the S55 vs B58 thing. S55 definitely had turbo lag but most don't really notice it because the turbo lag gets hidden by the amount of torque the S55 gives out extremely early on. By the time the turbo lag comes, you wouldn't notice it nearly as much. B58, in the times I have driven it, the torque comes on later and much more controlled. That exaggerates the turbo lag for some of us if we have had experience with the N55/S55.

S55 is a torque monster, that engine is known for it. I mean, the torque came on so early in the first few years that BMW released a few firmware versions to pull that back. By the time your butt dyno gotten over the torque pulling you around, the engine would have gotten past the turbo lag. Duno if that was intended by BMW M engineers or it just happened to come out that way.
