Look for shop for crank hub install

I'm located in Bradenton and looking for a shop in either the Tampa or Sarasota area that has experience in replacing the crank hub

DCT. I'm running Bootmod3 Stage 1 93. I don't have the crank hub yet. There's a few options out there. You're looking at a min of $1000 for the part itself.

I was thinking about tuning my car but was worried about the crank hub... the shop told me a majority of times it's from a manual F80 downshifting.

that bullshit?

It can happen to both, not just manuals.

There's no specific reason it happens is there? is it worth upgrading the part preventively?

So from my understanding, on DCT cars, the crank hub slips due to aggressive down shifts, such as using the kick down feature or down shifting into higher RPMs. Manual cars it occurs when you money shift accidentally. Keep in mind it can occur more frequently on cars running more boost and power but it does happen to stock cars as well.

I have a DCT and definitely plan on keeping this car forever or until I can afford the next level up, so for me, it was 100% worth the preventative maintenance cost. I was running a stage 1 tune from Alex Alpine and even though it's not aggressive I decided to upgrade my hub. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
