That is absolutely crazy. The good news is that the guy is on a BMW contract. You should be able to get out of this one. The bad news is that it's gonna be a total PITA.

Would be the only excuse, but that could be easily disproved assuming shipping company does the whole 100 pictures with an ipad thing that they all do

Damn, hope this works out in your favor. Lesson learned is that if you are in the same state, just grab a Southwest flight and head to check the car. I went San Jose to Orange County to pick up my E92 M3.

Also the original leasee breached the original BMW lease contract by altering the car. Might want to check if this voids the lease transfer contract.

I've done two lease swaps in my lifetime. Both went smooth and I personally made the trip to check out the cars, thank God!

OP, the big question is if the car originally came with those add ons or if they were done aftermarket? You would be responsible for returning the vehicle as is which would suckkkk.

Either way Swapalease and BMW financial should be able to help. If not, fuck it, get a lawyer and get this guy.

I checked. there were a couple people selling CS door cards but they all seemed legit. Although one guy sold his set, and the guy who bought it got banned. z33c was his name. Another guy was selling them in socal, but he had them installed in his own manual car.

i believe some not all of the removed equipment is called out on the monroney sticker. OLED rear tails, and 763m wheels.

Therefore, i see two options:
1. BMWFS voids the contract assuming the new owner didn't register the vehicle.
2. legal recourse for incorrect advertising. I believe the "verify equipment" statement was added after transfer initiated. Return the car to stock.

Bummer it wasn't caught before the transfer was initiated and reported to BMW or Swapalease.

This guy must have planned this all along. Probably before he even got the lease.
Possibly not the first time he has done this.

That sucks.. but why wouldn't you want to take a 1 hour maybe even less drive since theres no traffic right now due to Corona to check the car out?? I understand if you were across the country but that 1hr drive would've saved you a major headache and possibly thousands of dollars.
