Please do understand it is not possible to meet the EU regulations without at least hybrid versions, there are markets besides the states. If you want supercharged V8 we have planty of them made in the states. BMW is building whatever the customer and government is asking for! People asked for M SUV, AWD M Cars etc. and BMW made them. |

I know I ordered mine for Euro Delivery sight unseen on the basis of “‘More power, less weight, can handle 100F ambient temps track days, most track focused M3 out of the box” |

And people will also buy the G80, no doubt. The G80 will also be "better" as the F80.

Maybe this article will help to understand what's going on currently in the EU and what the manufacturer are facing.

The civic type R is not faster than the M4 on any tracks, the nurburg time was set with roll cage, track tires, upgraded suspension, etc. Put that on a stock M4 and you will get 10 seconds slower than a GTS at 7.37. The M2 is faster than the civic R. The a class amg uses a 4 cylinder and once again its slower, i don't know if you can make a faster 4 cylinder than a 6 if both are trying to make a fast car. |

But here are some comparison times with a V8 e92 and a 4 cylinder civic type R. Civic is clearly faster on most tracks. despite having half the engine size. it makes it up in light weight and turbocharging. power to weight is more important than cylinder count. https://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/v0ojml3tfuob

Some descriptors said in that thread about the F80 at the beginning: Simply stunning!!!!! Holy Smokes!!!! nice nice Wow, looks great! Both look great! But man, the 4 door. I'm digging it big time. WOWZERS!! OMG! I'm effin speechless! M3 looks amazing. Wow, awesome post and info. Both cars are sick. WOW!!! Where do I sign? M3 is gorgeous! my lord And that's just from the first 2 pages. Needless to say, LOW4LYF's claim that "Nobody liked the F80 at the beginning" is absolutely, unequivocally and utterly FALSE! |

Maybe BMW wants a piece of cake in the continent and is trying to moneybag rest of the world by forcing 4 cylinder hybrid on us? :smh

I would take an 8,000 rpm revving naturally aspirated inline 4 hybrid over turbo engines any day.

People loved and still love the V8. I hated the F8x and I am still not the biggest fan. Let's wait till we have an official release and go from there. BMW could be nail it and people will still complain and complain and complain... |

Nobody complained about F8x cars. The G80 is ugly from the renders and majority of ppl on this forum Hate it. The fact is it will also be heavier, more expensive, have Auto trans, less raw compared to F80. I think it will be faster, more comfortable and be better daily especially for those that need AWD. |
