Yup. Includes hotel and food for 4 nights. It would be way less than that for someone to just fill a seat…less than half.

I remember clearly why I got rid of REMUS. Aside from the rattle in the valves, the car drones with its setup. The drone came and went as well so it was even more obvious when it did drone. Hated it, ordered Akrapovic and never looked back.

I don’t know if REMUS w/ AA mid would resolve that issue of the drone but I didn’t bother. Forgot what the drama with REMUS was about though.

been a while since i posted here the wife and I finally found an SUV we can agree on.

We found the lexus lineup boring af and the 1-2 year old macan GTS a bit on the pricey side for what you get. Watched some reviews on the X3M and felt its just too stiff for what an SUV should be. The SQ5 was nice but seems pretty hard to find a good one with prestige package... and the new model is about to drop soon (which actually looks good and i'd imagine will drop the current lineup a bit)

We ended up finding a '24 X3 M40i with 13k miles fully loaded with everything including the M sport diff. Alpine white on mocha brown. The big bonus is that the previous owner did a full clear bra on it! 75k sticker but we got them otd to 58k before tax.

Not sure about mods yet. It'll definitely need some all season tires first.

We'll fly out friday to vegas and road trip the 21 hours home to missouri.

Not sure what'd have to be doing with an X3 M in day-to-day life that an M40i couldn't do. Donuts every morning, probably. M SUVs are mostly pointless so 40i is more than enough.

You know what's funny? There are two here close by for the SQ5. one 24, one 25.

https://www.audidtla.com/new/Audi/20...f5f0f41a6d.htm

The SQ5 is surprisingly good for a deal. Macan GTS is 20k to 30k more than a comparable SQ5.

well fuck...

checked over the listing one last time before we planned to fly out on friday. carfax shows an accident on 1/21 (i could have sworn it was clean when i checked a few days ago)

my guess is the owner had the accident and dumped it before it showed up so he could get max trade in value. luckily we got a refund for the airbnb. airline (spirit) will only give us trip credit though, but still, dodged a bullet.

You really lucked out with the last minute check before committing to the trip. Sad it wasn’t the one but glad you didn’t walk into a can of worms. Keep us posted on the search as the new X3’s are moving out, more examples will hit the market for your browsing.

Also you’re brave for committing to Spirit for you and the wifey, I’ve sworn them off after a few work flights with them lol.

haha yeah the wife kept asking me if it was safe to fly. But it was turning into last minute flight and they had the time slot we needed + 80% off the price of the others.

talked to the dealer some more this afternoon, it was a surprise to them too.

turns out the car wasn't even in an accident. the owner goes skiing up in the mountains frequently and then had a dead starter motor. apparently this was due to corrosion of the cables (google says its common on the x3). BMW did not warranty it, so he went through his insurance for repair.

First off.
How the hell do you claim that for insurance purposes

and second WHY would you when your rates would probably go up because of that.

will keep those options open. trying to keep it under 60k though, since this segment of german SUVs usually depreciates pretty rapidly

It will definitely be difficult to get one under 60k regardless of which one you end up with.

If you have to keep it under 60k, X3 is probably the only choice. Outside of Alfa Romeo maybe? You know the Tonale? lol

Well that logic could be applied to just about any vehicle purchase. Most of us could/would do fine with the most entry level variant of any vehicle (….or a lesser expensive option from another manufacturer).

Yeah sadly all of DTLA Audi is White and Black, very bland.

As for the regular car thing? Yeah I agree completely. Hence why my sudden interest in the Miata.

Is your schedule still 12/12?

Calling around getting quotes.

Anyone recommend a quality paint shop in Orange County/Los Angeles that can paint match my rear diffuser?
