Another convert from a big-box tune here. I was having insanely bad drivability in my manual F82 after going stage 2+ from a widely-used platform, enough so that I kept dialing back stages until it was usable again. The throttle was grossly over sensitive and the power delivery was abrupt. I couldn’t pull away from a stop without looking like an idiot. Alex remoted in, explained everything thoroughly, and I couldn’t be happier now. The car purrs taking off the line and the power delivery is buttery smooth, so much so that I don’t know how fast I’m really going until I glance down. Thanks again, Alex!

I wanted to thank Alex for taking time out of his day to remote flash my 2018 M4 today. Car runs great and tune (stage 2) is very smooth even with manual transmission.

Has anyone gone from a Dinan Stage 1 to an Alpine Stg 2 ?? Feedback?
Also, would Stage 2, all else stock, require a crank hub fix? Very interested in this product.

Alex@Alpine did a second set of coding. I’ve a M4 DCT with MP HAS, MPE. Use for track and spirited weekend driving.
This round was Stage 1, DCT and Diff Flash and Euro MDM. Already had Adaptive dampers set to CS (and, some other various coding) First, Alex is very prompt, professional and even made a very quick adjustment after the initial flash. So, I did a track day yesterday. Additional horsepower and torque was noticeable on the Street and came in handy at track. Smooth through the power band. Absolutely nothing negative to say (other than maybe I should have tried stage 2?) The transmission is definitely smoother. Plus, the differential flash along with the DCT Flash seemed to better deliver the power whether corners or straights. Many GT4s in the track had nothing in the M4. Shorter track (1:30 times) with many ups/downs, one 110 mph straight into a 30 mph turn, etc. Overall, like my prior experience and others comments, Alex is very knowledgeable, responsive and professional at a fairly reasonable price. Thumbs up!

Alex,
Does your software work with a 2020 M4 or a bench unlock is needed first like other platforms? |

Do you think in the future there will be a benchless solution?
Im under full warranty and dont want to do a bench unlock as dealership will know and could void warranty. Im really hoping for a solution where you can tune and remove without dealership knowing in anyway. |

Most, if not all dealerships are privately owned. The dealerships at service inspects the vehicle and submits a claim for approval/payment. The manufacture will either approve/pay, deny or send out their rep to the dealership to further inspection prior to approval. Vehicles built post 07/2018 have further detection software built in. When a tech connects the vehicle to their computer for diagnostics this information is then transfer over to headquarters. At this point it is out of the dealerships hands, with thousands of vehicles coming in an out weekly most just slip through the cracks and get approved but if any are viewed by human eyes it will be flagged most likely. This is why when someone tells me "I'm friends with the guy at the dealership" my usual reply is, you can own the dealership, it wouldn't matter. The manufacture in the old days would void the warranty and you could get a lawyer fight the voiding of the warranty. Now what they do is "flag" the vehicle leaving your warranty in place but denying service at X dealership and internally (in their internal systems) flag the car. I believe this is done to essentially put you in a loop and claim the warranty isn't voided, service was just refused. Benching a vehicle is making a carbon copy of the vehicle, if you just simply bench it and not flash it after and put back the original copy later no OBDII history is placed. This is actually safer then flashing through OBDII. If you are careful removing and installing the ECU back into the car you'll leave little or no trace. Obviously, if they further look into how much power the car pulled, top speed limiter and so on they could find out. In short, bench is the opposite of what you think, it is safer. I am not sure on a timetable of an OBDII unlock, but I am sure it will eventually come out. |

Alex is a gentleman and a scholar!
Huge props to Alex, he coded out my EDC tonight after the dreaded chassis error from the KW V3 install back in November (can't believe I waited this long to get it taken care of). He also did the LED headlight upgrade, taillight daytimes, and the folding mirror trick while pressing down the lock button on the key. He couldn't have been nicer, more professional, or just plain easier to work with. We got it all setup in less than a day, and the work itself I think took 8 minutes? Absolutely incredible, I had no idea he was that fast. Car is perfect now, chassis error is gone and M1/M2 buttons are back. Thank you again so much Alex! Anyone needing coding help should go to him, you cannot do any better than Alex! |
