This has been going on for more than 15 years.
I remember it was rampant with the SMG on the E46 when I shopped for one of those. It’s dealerships lying.

DCT and SMG aren’t manuals. No clutch pedal = automatic.

And I am a huge fan of both (even SMG).

Y'all, it's not some dealer conspiracy or shady behavior. Plug a DCT F8x into a VIN decoder, it'll say manual transmission and list the DCT under options.
