I feel like my Powerstop's squeal only in warmer weather- all winter they were pretty quiet but now we're climbing into the 40's/50's and they're squealing.

I think I'll swap over to the Akebono's when I throw on my summer wheels/tires.

I then realized that the inside pad had the same thing but on the opposite (trailing) side.

Emailed PowerStop with a general "wtf?" - no damage to the wheel or caliper, and no stones or sticks stuck in the wheel. I think the things broke off due to brittle metal (you can see the porous break) and very cold temps combined with vibration.

Get Akebonos I just swapped them yesterday and the quality is night and day. Never will I cheap out on pads again. The squeaking and horrible QC was unbearable. My shims weren't in place, fitment was crap, and the only thing that worked was the metal retainer clip lmao.

I had squeaking when they were warm, and blood-curdling screeching in the cold lose-lose!

I have been purchasing brake pads from Dave since 2002. Dave recommended Hawk 5.0 pads (details below). Install was straightforward. I will point out that the anti-vibration/noise reduction ears or whatever they are called are much larger than stock. No matter, when the pins are inserted the stand-off from the caliper is fine. There is no contact with the caliper. Follow the typical bedding instructions. I have 600 miles on the pads. There is no squeal and hardly any brake dust at all even after several periods of driving in wet weather. Bite is as good as stock. I highly recommend these pads.

2018 BMW M3 F80

Products
------------------------------------------------------
1 x Hawk HPS 5.0 brake pads - rear (D1656) [1 box required] (63-411-1656) = $112.00
1 x Hawk HPS 5.0 brake pads - front (D1609) [1 box required] (63-411-1609) = $154.00
------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: $266.00
Any updates on this?

To confirm these do come with the silver tabs (can't find pictures with these even on Hawk's home page).

Destroyed a set of Cool Carbon during some high speed runs (straight line) and want to ensure this does not happen again.
