Uniden R3 is one of the top detectors. The Valentine 1 is still a great detector if you have an Android phone running YAV1 and have the bluetooth dongle for the V1. Otherwise forget having a radar detector since laser is much more prevalent. I'm running a V1 with YAV1 and Anti Laser Priority laser jammer front and back. So far the laser jammer has saved me more than the V1.
