Use Lexol to start then you can move on to other products. Get it clean first, then conditioned (to soak in to the dry leather) and then you can research maintenance products (there are many) of which I prefer Griot's Garage.

Automotive leather doesn't need to be conditioned. If he claims it is very dirty why wouldn't he start with Leatherique to make sure his leather is as clean as possible instead of starting with an otc leather product?

colourlock have a really good pu coating safe leather cleaner - they have 2 levels, a strong and mild

if you use the strong, best to apply their leather shield after getting it spotless as it's quite aggressive

i doubt most otc leather cleaners will work well if it's really dirty

leatherique prestine clean is a great maintenance product, but on really dirty seats you'd need to do their full rejuvinator system which is a lot of time and effort

just as important as choosing the right product imo is choosing the right cleaning tool

I got the chemical guys cleaner, conditioner, and brush and it works great on the silver stone leather. The cleaner is really good , and the conditioner makes the leather feel good and smell great. I clean mines about once every 2 mths.

Don't put plastic bags with printed stuff on your seats as the print will be on the leather, the cleaner takes it off though.

While I don't have any personal experience, I would say go with Leatherique's 2 part system.

I say this after watching this video of what was possible with a filthy white Audi seat:

Sweet jesus that stuff appears to work

This also seems to be a great how-to on the product.
